October 22, 2012 is the date AMD drops their latest performance and stability fix driver: Catalyst 12.11 Never Settle. This driver, which will be posted at 3PM ET, is a heavy rework for GCN architecture cards, claimed to offer significant performance increases as well as including new mobility card specific Enduro fixes. On top of this, AMD begins a new holiday game bundle for a wide range of cards, with up to 3 new titles game codes coming from participating e-tailers. This promotion is at the retail level, not in the graphics card box - you'll find an extra piece of paper in the shipping box detailing how you can get your games, digital code redemption from Steam/Origin etc.
The Never Settle Game bundle gives you a combination of free games and a discount, too. New purchasers of Radeon HD 7900 series cards will get Far Cry 3, Hitman Absolution and Sleeping Dogs, plus 20% off Medal of Honor Warfighter.
Buy a Radeon HD 7800 or 7770 and you get one game, Far Cry 3 and 20% discount on MoH:Warfighter. Double up on your 7800 or 7770 and also receive Hitman Absolution. Along with the Catalyst 12.11 graphics driver, expect AMD to release an updated set of chipset and PCH/south bridge drivers for Windows 8, too. The Never Settle gaming bundle runs through December 31st 2012 and game keys must be redeemed by December 31st . This also answers the question of when the new AMD Radeon series is launching: it's not this holiday season.
