Dragon Age: Origins launched in 2009, marking a major jump in production and technology for developer Bioware, along with 2007's Mass Effect. The then new Eclipse engine allowed BioWare to showcase its RPG talents better than ever, and it did with high-end visuals, great writing, massive scope, and extremely satisfying gameplay.
The studio followed it up with the rushed Dragon Age II in 2011, which benefited from another jump in technology, but featured radically different combat and art design from that of its predecessor, as well as a considerably smaller scope, all of which upset many fans.
Now, Dragon Age: Inquisition is here, and features not only the old style of combat fans loved from Origins, but great art design that seems to blend what we saw in Origins and II, plus an open world and heaps of new, fun mechanics, all courtesy of DICE's impressive Frostbite 3 engine.
