United Front Games' open world gangster game Sleeping Dogs has proved something of a surprise hit, both in terms of gameplay but also PC features, as shown in our recent review. Among the highlights: a fairly long list of tasty graphics options and effects.

If you're curious to get the best trade-off between performance and visuals with the game, read on for an analysis that should help greatly in deciding which of those options to tweak and how.

All testing was performed using the in-game benchmark, results from which are more or less in line with actual gameplay. Each set of results is based on the High preset and one runthrough, except when anomalies were observed (rarely), at which point multiple runthroughs were made.
