Does anyone know if 64-bit drivers are available for the first gen RW?
If not, has anyone managed to jerry-rig a solution? I hate to say it, but ATI's support for RW has been abysmal since driver 2.5. That was the last driver that I was able to install without issue. Driver 1.4 is probably...
Hello:
I have had my RW for many years now. I probably reinstall my OS about 15-20 times a year (it's a hobby). I've come to the conclusion that if the RW drivers are not installed almost immediately after a clean Windows install, the systray icon almost certainly will not appear as it should...
For several years, I had an XP1700+ Athlon XP
Palamino core (cough). If I was very careful, and didn't make direct eye contact with the monitor, I could capture without dropping frames. I didn't even dare check my mail with my system tray mailchecker, or I most certainly would start dropping...
I just want to high five the folks at ATI for a wonderful RMA experience. My 8500DV crapped out about a month ago...wouldn't boot on three out of four of my motherboards. I put in my old standby 7200, and RMA'd the 8500. I sent it out last monday, and received a new (or refurbished?) 8500DV...
Hi:
I just upgraded to an Abit NF7-S 2.0 Motherboard, and I am still using my Audigy soundcard. I've been toying with the idea of pulling it out and trying the Soundstorm. I've read good things about it, but I recall a few threads regarding incompatibility between Soundstorm and MMC.
Has this...
Our local cable system has a good deal of high frequency audio splash on the analog channels.
That is, high frequencies like vocal sibilance, especially female vocals, tend to distort and "splash".
I've tried to use the noise limiting DSP utility in my Audigy EAX, likewise I've tried the...
Long story, but here's the short of it. I bought about five Vantec Stealth fans to squelch the vacuum cleaner like whine of my FOP32 with the Delta 60mm 7 million RPM heatsink fan, and to enhance the multimedia experience.
So I replaced all of the offending noisemakers with the Stealths, and...
The quality of most of my Cable channels is less than stellar. If I use heavy soap, the result is pretty reasonable.
However, there is a slight problem. If I were to open MMC now, set the soap from default to heavy and start recording, everything would be fine...no dropping frames, etc...

In order for my Remote Wonder receiver to work, I have to point the remote at a 90 degree angle relative to the way one would normally point the remote...know what I mean? Yes, the remote has probably bounced off the floor one or ten times in it's life.
Any ideas?
I'm getting an "access violation" error. Once I click by it, I then get a "UltimateGuide only works with an event initiated by TitanTV.com", which is what I 'was' doing!
I'll bet TitanTV has made a scripting change.
I have an email in to UltimateGuide...if you are having troulbe as well, I'll...
I think it's been established that the dropping of frames in 8.6, and 8.7 happen in scheduled recordings during the first few seconds that MMC is opening. I've installed 8.7, and I have never had frames drop unless
it's from a scheduled record.
I opened up MMC in desktop mode, opened the right...
When I capture with either huffy, or Picvideo or Morgan MJPEG, the captures play back fine, but when I transcode with TmpgEnc, the a/v sync is horribly off.
I've tried 640x480 and smaller resolutions, but there is no difference.
I'm not dropping any frames, and I've tried even lower quality...
The one thing that really bugs me about my MMC SVCD captures, is that the background pixels are constantly shifting and crawling around like maggots. This is more prevalent with VBR, but also happens with CBR, even at bitrates up to 2600.
I installed WinDVR3 today, and there is none of this...
