    Radeon 9700 non-Pro owners: 9700 Pro overclocking results with 7 different BIOS's

Late last Summer, it became clear that the memory clock limit of R300-based boards would likely be primarily dictated by stability of the memory interface itself. Because of the complexity of the 256-bit design, TL or internal logic issues would cap operating speeds at about 330-340MHz. Around...

The Totally Unsuccessful 9500NP-to-9700 hack thread.

Mine is a wk 36 ASIC on what looks to be a wk 46 PCB. I am particularly wary of these boards with old/new ASIC/PCB combos. Using conductive paint for the mod and leaving the resistor in place left everything FUBAR. BIOS and ASIC ID's were both registering as 0x4E44 but there was no device...

    Has anybody seen a Radeon 9500 128MB non-pro with the newer, 9500 Pro-style PCB?

Sorry to start another thread on this subject but I feel this question is critical. People want to be able to order the Radeon 9500 NP 128MB in full confidence that they are getting a card that is based on the 9700 Pro PCB (256-bit memory bus, 8 memory chips) and subsequently can be modified...

Registry key to change TV picture position limits?

Hi, Is there a key or tweak of some kind that allows you to overcome the limits of the screen positioning controls in the ATi Display Properties>>>Advanced>>>Displays tab? At the moment I have an HTPC with an AIW 7500 ouputting 848x480 to a 16:9 Panasonic TV and it looks gorgeous. The only...

    East17...

I remember you asking rather impatiently about those PN numbers a while back and where they were on the PCBs. Well there were no pics of them available at the time, but here you go... http://www.viahardware.com/r9k/images/9000proram.jpg 964, as detailed all those weeks ago. I'm not sure if...

    Optimus 9000 Pro: a 128mb RV250.

I was wondering whether there would be one. Seems at least one 3rd party will produce a 128MB card... http://www.darkcrow.co.kr/image/news/0207/O9000pro_all.jpg http://www.darkcrow.co.kr/ I think it's clocked at 275/275MHz, so probably performs about the same as a 64MB 8500LE...

There is no "Radeon 8500 MAXX", sorry.

There is absolutely NO dual R200-based board in development (FACT!) and there never will be unless ATi want to pull a very, very strange marketing manoeuvre and kill some R300 sales. Technically it is possible using the "Bridget" AGP bridge chip found on the 8500DV, but I doubt they can justify...

    Rage Theater 2

This is pure guesswork and speculation formed from information freely available on the internet. :D 1. INTRODUCTION RAGE THEATER 2™ is an advanced, single chip analog video decoder and stereo audio processor that forms the basis for the forthcoming ATi RV250/R300 daughtercard range. These...

    ATi's next-gen line-up?

Just looking in the 6093 drivers... These aren't so obvious... I guess "RV250 SECONDARY" might be the "RV250LE" seen in recent photos (250/250Mhz?), counterpart to the RV250 (300/300MHz?). Hmm... as for R300, what exactly is the significance of those four strings? They all associate...

    Nice little leak re. RV250 & R300

Here's something from Reactor Critical's interview with Club3D product distribution dudette, Janita Willems: Nice little leak, there. Thanks Janita. :D Three times the performance (of the P10, NV30 & Parhelia)?! NO WAY. I can't believe that. Still... must be one hell of a chip, especially...

Officially the worst review ever. :-)

Mwehehehe... bad in SO many ways. http://www.pcrivals.com/index.php?page=article&id=31  There's no real point to this post, sorry. Think I am still a little drunk from last night. :D MuFu.

Anybody with BGA RAM using RAMsinks?

Do you find that additional cooling on your BGA RAM helps overclocking? I am just saying this because in my experience, BGA does not seem to get very warm at all, even when overclocked. Tweakmonster just brought out some Ni-coated Cu BGA RAMsinks and I was thinking of splashing out for them...

[H]ard|OCP post some graphs a few people here will be pretty pleased to see. :-)

Here's the full review. Boy, that AIW 128MB is a damn nice card, with 3.3ns BGA that they get to 325MHz without RAMsinks. w00t! :D Also notice the general increase from the 6052 to the 6058's; something that's been known here for a while, but nice to see it independently verified. Good stuff...
