AIW Pro Win2k DPMS Issue + MMC

I was wondering if anyone could help me out with these issues.

When running any drivers other than the ones that shipped with Win2k, display power management does not work, it simply blanks the screen, instead of the monitor entering suspend/standby as it should (and did with the original Microsoft drivers). I've made sure the monitor driver is "Plug and Play Monitor". I'm assuming this problem has to do with multiple monitors (since the original driver didn't support TV out, and a TV obviously doesn't support DPMS). I don't mind losing TV out support.

I'm running a All-in-Wonder Pro 8MB 2x AGP, currently with Big Z's 5058 drivers.

The other issue I'm having is with TV Tuner support. Before, I was running ATi's J5.30.1-B02 (5.0.2195.5013) in order to use the tuner. Now, I get a "Ensure the correct video drivers have been installed" in MMC7.2 and "Driver: Unsupported" in the Multimedia Center Control Panel Applet.

I have tried reinstalling MMC7.2 to no avail. As well, I tried installing a combination of the 5058 driver files and the 5013 multimedia drivers (same files as in the capture addon on Big Z's site but from 5013 driver). What does MMC rely on in order to check if a driver is supported?

Does anyone have a newer driver than 5013 working with capture in Win2k? And, any ideas about the power management issue?

I'm not real sure about your first problem but as far as MMC and the driver issue, I've never liked ATi's MMC as it is a big system hog. I would recommend using this method :

Download and install Driver Cleaner Pro
Uninstall your drivers with the remove program cp and reboot into Safe Mode
In Safe Mode, launch Driver Cleaner Pro and completely remove all traces of ATi Software. When it is finished, reboot.
Once your system reboots and loads into windows, cancel out of any "found new hardware" wizard and install the latest offical drivers for your AIW Pro card from ATi.
Now download InterVideo WinDVR 3 and install at your leisure. This program will be your replacement for ATi's Multimedia Center and is 10x's better and much more streamlined.

This is the method I used to get the TV Tuner/Capture working in WinXP with this same card after I experienced this same problem. Hopefully this will work for you too! Good luck!

Thanks, I had the latest offical ATi driver (5013) working with the capture features but would like to see if I can get a newer rage pro driver working for 3D performance and DXVA support.

I assumed that there was capture support in 5058 since capture driver files were available on Big Z's site. "To reduce file size, the Video Capture section of the driver has been released as a separate download."

Here's hoping?

Anyone have any ideas? the support seems to be lacking in the ati2mpad.sys (or ati2mpad.sys). Are there any other versions for Win2k after 5013 that are known to work with the Rage Pro (including capture)?

And, any ideas about power managment support in the different versions?
