Boxes instead of icons/text in windows HELP!

Im seeing these squares/boxes instead of text/icons on my apps and webpages
Does anyone know what it could be?
I googled and tried most things with language settings and fonts but nothing works
Dont want to reinstall windows

I use windows 10. I have a faint memory of having this problem once a long time ago

did you install a language pack after windows updates? i'm seeing a notice not to do that in most recent win10 patches.

I tried installing language packs after I got this problem because some were pointing that it would fix it but no havent installed before I got the problem

Seems I have corrupted files...
Did a sfc /scannow and it found corrupted files, fixed some but others it couldnt fix

Now in some apps/websites its normal but it others its squares still

Needed to do a complete reinstall!
I knew upgrading from previous windows version is crap! it always is!

You can try doing the following in an elevated powershell window:
Repair-WindowsImage -Online -RestoreHealth

already done a reinstall which was nice and fast actually...
took about 1,5h including installing drivers and apps I had
Had all my games and steam on a different drive so that helps alot

Fixed it
