Control Panel has switched between full and windowed.

While adjusting my screen display for my TV app in AIW my control panel has switched places. The full screen panel is now in my windowed screen and my windowed control panel is now in the full screen. I tried selecting the repair function and the remove and reinstall functions in the Windows Add/Remove programs function. Did not help. The settings must be stored somewhere. Any ideas how I can restore balance to the universe and get the windowed tv panel back in the windowed tv screen?

Help!

Thanks

Mike

Can you take and post a screen shot (PrtScn - button) and then paste it into windows paint or a photo editing program like Irfanview save it out and post it here - attachment.

Thanks for replying but I unable or paste the two screen captures. Is there another way to get the 2 jpg's to you?

DO you mean 2 monitor screens -- i.e. that your TV has the control panel & the PC has the full screen?

Have you checked in Windows Display Properties to see if 1 & 2 are swapped?

Otherwise to answer your other question, most of these sorts of settings are stored in Windows Registry. Getting rid of them after un-install may just be a matter of right-click -> Delete in Regedit, or might require booting into safe mode & then editing the registry. There are also a few ATI system cleaners that will remove ATI registry settings for you. Either way don't forget to backup your hdd &/or registry 1st.

No it is a single monitor. AIW has a TV tuner which displays in a window or fullscreen format. This allows me to watch TV through my pc. There is a tv control panel that is displayed either in the fullscreen display or beneath the window when in windowed mode. The control panel changes looks and slight function in the different modes, windowed or fullscreen. Sometime during my attempts to chnage the display sceeen aspect ratio the two mode specific control panels switched modes. Now the normally fullscreen specific control panel is displayed in the TV window mode and the windowed specific control panel displays in the TV fullscreen mode.

any ideas

Bart212, I know this is frustrating but explaining to Mikiem what an AIW card is like telling Bill Gates what Windows XP is.... He's a long time warrior at this stuff.

I can't speak for him, but I think / thought I knew what control panel you are talking about (it displays the TV Channel Number and has the buttons to raise volume, start recording etc). However, I do not experience any change like what you describe as your "normal" bx. Mine is the same whether I am in a windowed view, or the full screen mode. What bx is different? I mean specifically what buttons / functions are different?
I drag and move my (TV) control panels all around the screen in the windowed mode, they tend to stay in the same place (hidden in full screen mode) until i cursor over the screen or make a change in channel etc. So without seeing what you are seeing it's simply hard to guess what's going on.
If rage 3d won't let you post a picture yet b/c you don't have enough posts might I suggest you simply post it on a free site like Flickr or google for another one. Then post a link back here with the webpages URL. You made need to break it up a bit For example http://www.google.com break it up so it will let you post like h t t p www(dot)google(dot)com

You Wrote:
"While adjusting my screen display for my TV app in AIW my control panel has switched places. When I read that the first time I wasn't sure you meant TV Control panel, then I assumed you must mean that but thought it sounded like you just need to drag and move it to the location you want it to remain in. So I'm glad you came back & updated (a bit) but it's still not a clear picture in my mind exactly what you are seeing. As I can't repeat the differences between any of the modes, unless I start up DTV HDTV wonder or something...

BTW could you fill in (are you in US or European (PAL). What Operating system and version of SP? But screen shots a couple of each maybe, likely be the biggest help.

It's a kin' to if I were from France and learned to speak English but then I tried to talk to someone in Southern Texas...we are both speaking English but somewhere along the lines we are not understanding one another completely...

Thanks for the reply. Thanks for the heads up on Mikiem. Didn't mean to offend anyone.

I'll try and get a pic posted. As for the problem I am encountering, it seems to be effecting AIW when I use the classic skin for the TV. When I use one of the other skins I can move the control panel around even outside of the TV window. In the classic view you can lock the panel to the bottom outside of the window. That panel now only appears when I go to full-screen mode, hence I am unable to move it to out of the TV area. The smaller control panel normally appearing in a full mode view appears in the windowed view and since it cannot be moved it is stuck inside of the window. All of this is just a major annoyance, except for the function of the mouse. Because the two modes have switched the mouse vanishes when I bring up the tv program guide, making it problematic to control the guide.
