His pic? It's the webcontrol for the new v7.3.6 fahclient.

Okay, I'll bite the bullet and update my clients. Looks like a lot has changed over the past year or two! Perhaps I should pay attention to my F@h alpha team emails. :bleh:

I like it love the right-click to pause an individual slot can game on 1 7970 and let the second fold away.

I also have it running on my Vbox Linux install for smp folding..seems to help a bit with folding on my FX8350..Linux kernel seems to be better optimized for it and reduces scheduling issues..cheaper than buying Win 8 anyways. ;)

If you get a chance can you check the CPU load Dave? Curious if it's still 12% of an HT box per gpu or if it's more. (CPU and clocks would help as well)

PPD is more than triple what I was getting on a HD5870. Showing about 11.5K on 7662. Someone else reported getting closer to 16K though on their box with a slight OC so it might be a bit higher as I rebooted the box after the WU was downloaded.

@Darkfoss: You might want to try CPU:7 like Dave and see if it affects the GPU numbers... Also there is another tweak I read to change the next-unit-percentage to 100 as it sounds like the QRB starts as soon as the WU is downloaded. So if it is downloaded early and sits around you will get less points. (Haven't confirmed just what I read)

Thanks for the tip..gave it a shot we'll see if it sticks it may be broken with the new client per this thread.

I'll play with smp 7 tomorrow seemed to drag the 1st gpu down some at the default but I switched pretty quickly..right now I'm seeing a tpf of 2.52 on gpu 1 and 2.48 on gpu 2.

I've got an HD6950 folding the beta 7662 WU's. With CCC 13.1 I get below 1% CPU usage. With the 13.2B7 and 13.3B2 I'm getting about 15% CPU usage. So with CCC 13.1 there is no need to leave a CPU core for the GPU.

I would suggest that if you don't need the the latest CCC beta for games to step back to 13.1 for folding. With 13.1 you can fold SMP and GPU on the same box with no impact at all.

I've switched all my machines to next-unit-percentage=100 (and it is working for me so far). It takes about 10 or 15 seconds to download the WU so there is no need to have it queued up while the current WU finishes. Although there is a very slight bump in PPD by doing this it really doesn't amount to much. It varies by WU because some WU's have a short TPF and others have a long TPF but on average it's less that 1% increase in PPD from what I've seen.

Hmm right now on the 7809 with smp 6 I'm seeing a tpf of 14min 08 seconds dropped 40 seconds just from opening firefox ..in vbox same wu was about 10 min 45 to 11 min 13 seconds.. gpu's are at 2min 49-50 seconds.. but were about 8-9 seconds slower when folding via vbox.
Going to change to smp 7 now see how it does while I'm back at work.

Looks like I may have to reconsider running Win 8 when I buy a new mobo. Going to be either the Crosshair V-Z or the Sabertooth Gen 3 when I see them out.

Nice! So it does reassure that those drivers are using cycles for no real good reason. Hopefully they can get it fixed for the release version.

I read on the folding forum that it's recommended using the Official 13.1 drivers for the HD5&6000 cards and to use the 13.2 betas for the hd 7000 series.. Going to try out the new 13.3 betas in a bit.

Next-unit-percent 100% setting took according to the log files :)

Setting smp7 dropped the tpf about 2 min, didn't affect the gpu at least while unattended added 10sec now that I'm on it. So far so good.

Yeah if you **** around with it, it goes a little wonky haha.

I tried having the cpu slot using 8 cores instead of 7. Made no difference. CPU usage on 7 cores is still 92%, though its spread across all 8 cores anyway, just at 92% per core. The gpu clients are using 1% cpu usage.
