Forum still being worked on

First of all, thanks to Roki, et al, for putting up a great board; your hard work is evident and appreciated!

Feedback on colours:

Blue-Gray and Brown don't provide enough contrast, IMHO, but having contrasting colours does help us to stop pushing the wrong buttons. I'd like to suggest that you use the blue-gray (perhaps a lighter hue) but move to a second colour that provides more contrast. As it stands, it still strains the eyes a tad. I think that lighter colours would help this.

I really like the current dark blue and dark grey color settings. Very easy on the eyes. Turn the contrast up on your monitor people!

Agreement here (I think). The current coloring (as of the time of me typing this, dark blues & greys) looks great! Getting the highlighted visited links back is also appreciated.

Thanks for all the great work!

I think it's great right now - I do have a slight niggle though. I do like the "Last poster" name on the index of discussions list (I missed it when it was gone, and was glad when it was put back) - however, is there anyway you can leave it on the same line? Right now, the last post field comes up:

"02-24-2001 01:48 AM
by <name>"

Can you make it:
"02-24-2001 01:48 AM by <name>" ?

It would save a lot of space and generally make the index list look a lot neater/tidier.

Just my 2 cents. Thanks for the efforts.

ps. Any chance Avatars can be pix we make up? :)

pps. Anybody know how to put a URL link in the sig? I tried using <a href...</a>, and [a href...[/a], but neither worked (just the text came out)...?

Oh btw, one other thing... When will the Search engine be back in working order? It doesnt seem to work for people/names.

I typically do a search for myself when I get on the site to see if there are responses to discussion threads I've contributed to (so I can reply, add, whatever). It's kinda tough to keep track otherwise...

Thanks,
Aceze

The forum search will be fixed today.

Get hyperlinks in your signature with [ url ] http://www.here.com [ /url ]

don't put the spaces in between the bracket and u/l

Avatars will be uploaded soon.

Not sure about html code as of yet

What's with the "Go To First New Post" heading before every thread. This is driving me absolutely crazy!!!???
I understood this to mean that it would access the last page of the thread and scroll just below the last post you saw when you last visited this thread, which would obviously show you the "First new post".

This feature was only briefly available. I'm not sure I saw it in action because it was removed too quickly, and the forums were unstable during that brief period. I used it once on a thread I had just read, and it seemed to work.

But I liked the idea very much. Could this be reinstated? Thanks.

Uh yeah, a little something to be worked on.

As of the time I'm writing this, the board's clock haven't yet gone to DST. Maybe from where the admins are there isn't a thing called Daylight Savings Time, but from here in California we just moved our clocks an hour ahead last Sunday morning. Maybe there could be some option to enable DST.

No big deal, just letting people know.

Yeah, we just switched from EST to EDT up here in Canada too. We're just too lazy.

Personally I don't care much of graphics in a forum. I mind the contents and I've found this is great: from news to articles and forum. You all did a great job!

Bye...

i've noticed that checking the "email notification" box, it doesn't work, it's been a while since i've tried though, i'll check it on this post and let you know how it works.
