High On Life (GamePass)

So, playing this latest iteration from the creators of Rick and Morty, nice and fun, lots of bad language and daft stuff. Its on gamepass so worth a try if you are into that type of humour.

One small thing is initial stutters, mainly disappear as I play more and the loss of modified key bindings if I die and/or exit the game, weird. Unreal 4 I believe, if someone has an idea how or where the mapping file .ini is as input.ini is blank. :/

The pre-release trailers really didn't look like something I'd enjoy, and I'm seeing some reviewers share that opinion in ruthless fashion. Definitely a gamepass title, not one to buy, it looks like.

Another one to add to the list, looks weird in a good way.

Anybody know how long this game is? Somebody said it took them 6 hours to finish.

Its bounty missions you have to complete, not sure how many in total but waiting on a fix for the controls defaulting back to default every death, change of scene, exit etc. which is rather annoying. If you listen to all the dialogue then play time will be longer obvs and some of the characters giving you lip are classic Rick and Morty stuff whilst they call you a sh!t head and stuff. Gamepass for sure as replay value not so sure as it will get old quick.

you can watch an entire movie in this game, and yes the dialogues are typical Rick & Morty stuff, also the ads you can watch everywhere are the same kind of humor. If your only goal is to complete the game as fast as possible you might be around 6-7 hours.

Would i pay full price for this game? No. But others might feel different about it. If you already have gamepass, well, then it's a no-brainer to tat least try it out.

All those reviews on GamePass talking about bugs have chased me off for the time being. I'll wait for a patch or two before trying it out.

Game is pretty meh. Gameplay is garbage. Still the humor is fine I guess. Extremely annoying though.

So, i found the game and gameplay quite good. Its simple, but it works well, and the world is great to play in. I found the things i liked about rick and morty were better here too. Like the humour and creativity. However, because of the immersive perspective of it all happening around you, and in your face, i had to stop playing. It gets way to depressing and narcissistic.

I'm with you on this. I don't think I'm going to keep playing. The gameplay isn't fun and I am not enjoying the dialogue, despite it being from Justin Roiland. Sometimes there is a chuckle here and there, but way too much talking and not enough serious delivery to balance the stupidity.

You can also make the game look a little nicer by modifying the engine ini file as well...

Location: %UserProfile%\AppData\local\Oregon\Saved\Config\WinGDK
FIle: Engine.ini

Add the following at the very end of the Engine.ini with a space seperating it from the rest of the commands.
*Note* You can change the Quality of the SSGI from 1-4 and SSGI HalfRes can be set to 0 to further enhance the quality

[/Script/Engine.RendererSettings]
r.SSGI.Enable=True
r.SSGI.HalfRes=1
r.SSGI.Quality=3
r.SceneColorFringeQuality=0
r.SceneColorFringe.Max=0
r.MotionBlur.Amount=0
r.MotionBlur.Max=0
r.Tonemapper.Sharpen=1.2
r.MaxAnisotropy=16
r.TemporalAA.Algorithm=1
r.Tonemapper.Quality=1

Enable's Screen Space Global Illumination, Switches to Gen 5 TAA, disables color fringe & motion blur, add a little sharpening & ensures Anisotropic Filtering is maxed out to 16x.
