It is easy.

If you want to use 4 processors, select "large" in "VM size" in tab "Configuration" to Microsoft Visual Studio.

If you want to use 8 processors, select "extralarge" in "VM size" in tab "Configuration" to Microsoft Visual Studio.

Do not forget to configure in Microsoft Visual Studio tab "Settings", "TeamNumber" 64, "Passkey" and "ClientExe" FAH6.34-win32-SMP.exe if SMP process or [email protected] uniprocess.

A greeting.

:) Well... even though the documentation from Microsoft was easy to follow there really wasn't much else easy about this process. Needing to install Visual Studio and SQL server on my machine was bad enough but then I had to provide my credit card?

This really isn't for the "@HOME" user I'm afraid. So now that I have it all setup I get only 375 hours of single CPU usage (I used my MSDN license). It's taking me 28 hours to fold 1 WU so I figure I'm getting less than 100 PPD from this.

Microsoft, being as big as they are, should have both made it easier to setup and given a good chunk of free hours. Something like 1500 or more hours would have given a good taste of this service and also brought in some real points for the Folders.

Oh well... :hmm:

I used an account with VM size ExtraLarge (8 processor) and I was folding 4 days, 1 WU every 8 h 50 min, also used another account with VM size Large (4 proccessor) and folding was 10 days, 1 WU every 13h 40 min.

Less is nothing, and free, after reaching the limit of 750 hours, the account is disabled until next month.

A greeting.
