It took some tweaking, a good run of nice WU's and some luck but I finally beat Ryoko in weekly points last week. :D

and you've taken the lead in production!

this doesn't mean i'm going down without a fight, though

8 Million points

8 Million points

managed 8 million at last - mainly by borrowing a core i7 we'll see how far i get before i have to give it back

lol well... it seems that I don't have much fight in me at the moment. The last 2 days I have been assigned 7610 and 7611 WU's most of the time. It's taken my PPD at home from around 100K to 120K down to 27K. For example, my OC'd 2600K is now pulling down just 11K PPD. These WU's suck!

But it was fun to take you out for at least 1 week! :D

Ha i didn't even notice that!

I've been getting these odd SMP WU's at home thats been slowing me down, i've had at least 4 now. WU's that are taking 1.5 days to complete. Almost like they are a bigdev unit or something. And it's only at home, anyone else seeing this?

Not sure what WU's you are getting but I'm into my second week of 7610 and 7611. These have sucked the life out of 6 of my folding machines.

I did get lucky on my 2600K folder for 2 days and had 56 8046 WU's come through in a row. These were only taking about 40 minutes to fold and giving about 2400 points per WU (about 85K PPD). This morning the 7611's started again so I stopped folding on this machine. It's just too hot to fold such a crap WU and average less than 10K PPD. :(

i've had two that were 7646, i'm not sure what the other two were as i didn't start tracking it until it started happening over and over. I'm fairly sure they've all been 7646 for me though.

Est credit according to the client is 13.3k once it's finished, but ya thats hardly worth it considering the time it takes to crunch.

However i'll keep crunching away even on these. As much as i love the competition and gaining as many points as i can get i truly am more interested in helping the research as it affects many of my family members :(

Yep... I understand where you are coming from with why you are doing this (I'm in the same boat) but it's also getting to be a pain in the ass.

One of my folders is currently working on a 7646. It's 45% in and still has another 22 hours to go. This box has been averaging about 12k PPD for months. Now down to about 6K

4 other machines are stuck on the 7610/11. So far today I have 4789 points. I'm, really getting frustrated by the total inconsistency of this stuff. Not sure how I can average about 180K for a long time then blast up to over 200K PDD and now it going to drop below 100K PPD.

I have a 24 thread server running Ubuntu in VirtualBox configured for BigAdv. If it manages to get a BigAdv WU it's a 6900 (which apparently doesn't exist anymore. Would be nice to get some real Linux BigAdv but nope.

Thinking of turning it all of because it's such a pain in the ass to monitor these machines to make sure that they are running only to have this inconsistent crap.

I really should be able to just set it up and let it run and I should get about the same PPD day in and day out. These last two weeks have been a joke.

/end rant

Sorry :o

i can understand your frustration, and share it in some cases. I haven't been reading the F@H boards at all lately, but i just wonder if they are doing some restructuring so to speak with WU's.

I've got nothing better for half these machines to do though so I'll let them keep crunching away and hope things get better :)

Yeah I can relate. I'm not running nearly as many machines as I used to but I've noticed wild swings in ppd. They really should attempt to make things more "fair". I mean we're paying to build and run these machines. We should be able to generate pretty close to the same ppd regardless of WU.

I know it's "all for a good cause" but it's just frustrating when you get stuck with these crappy (points wise) WU's.
