god bless Dodge for keeping the V8 alive by sticking it into things as much as humanly possible

next up: Chrysler Pacifica SRT Hellcat

Please don't go sissy on us MOPAR! Keep the V8 alive and well. Those V6 turbos don't get any better MPG than the V8s do in large vehicles anyway unless you never get into that boost.

Glad to see they did away with the gear shift "dial" and went back to a handle/stick. I drove a rental Durango last year and the dial was not only stupid, but dangerous.

Mileage is no longer the issue. It's emissions and noise. While the USA so far isn't as aggressive as some other countries, any manufacturer who wants to sell outside the USA they are being force out of the big engines:

I hate that damn thing in my 19 RAM. My wife drove it for the first time on vacation last week, and kept turning up and down the stereo volume instead of putting it into park and drive.

I get why they did it because of that awesome center console I have, but I would rather have a column shifter instead.

Noise? I love it. The louder the better IMO. That's part of the fun of driving a car with a big motor. That pure joy I get from hearing that engine work. That's actually one of my biggest turn offs when it comes to EVs. I think they're great, and when they can charge faster, I can't wait to own one. I will forever miss that glorious exhaust note though.

Was chatting about this with a buddy earlier today. Pretty excited about it, and am all for it.

Hellcat all the things! :)

I love this generation Durango from the front and diagonally, but hate the rear end. It's like they had this great design on the front, and then just blended it with a minivan.

Still, this is pretty rad.

I'm more interested in the Charger Hellcat Redeye (797 hp) which was long overdue.
