i am experiencing sum weird probz atm.
story:
i bought myself a compaq armada m300 subnotebook pwning a ATI Rage LT Pro 4mb PCI gfx chip...
so far so good...
i installed win xp prof sp2 and thought i might be able to update the gfx driver...
after decades of searching for a feckin' driver i found several ones (including all those stuff in the "pimpage" thread in this forum) but everytime i want to install a feckin' driver it just tells me
"it was not possible to find more suitable software than the currently installed" or however it would be in english (i am german tho). i have tried the XP 6007, XP 5772 and tons of other drivers, it all results in the same.... i cannot update the drivers. kinda weird that i was able to install the control panel tho.
ok, i now thought about deinstalling the gfx card. seemed to work fine but after the reboot it just told me that the control panel cannot be loaded cuz thre is no display driver installed LOL.... so the procedure began from the beginning. i am still not even able to install ANY driver and my desktop looks kinda lame in this cute resolution.....
and yes, i think i am capable of installing drivers properly (been doing suchstruff since several years now) but this thing really make me go crazy...
i have done veerything like it was described but it all result sin a clear no-go...
now it seems that the only thing i can do is to reinstall win xp prof, use those lame drivers that come with the OS and install the CP but thee must be another solution i guess
can any1 help me with it in here? i have no ideas anymore, this just seems to suck azz
isn't there just a plain executable archieve like the radeon thingys for me to use?
help me plz...
