Noooo, this sucks, GPU died

Not necessarily. I got a killer system myself (mine has an i9 in it) for 2k when it would have cost me $2,500 about a year ago by going pre-built. This is the first time ever that prebuilt is cheaper than building it yourself, as that is what I used to do.

As long as vid cards are at an insane price, prebuilt is the only way to save money on a complete system.

prices are still insane, we've had a prebuilt system at ALDI for 3,999€ which was sold out in minutes (as all the previous ones too).

It pretty much looks like the new normal as it's been this way for years now with no change in sight. Gone are the days of going to the store and picking a GPU up at MSRP (or cheaper). Now every single new hot video card that comes out will be scalped. This isn't limited to video cards either, this also applies for just about any hot new item (especially electronics). Everybody keeps saying it's because we can't make enough chips, but the problem with that theory is that they are assuming that will stop scalpers...it won't. They will just end up buying and selling more. Many of these video cards aren't even making it to the market as they are being sold directly to the scalpers/miners from the manufacturers.
