So, I finally got rid of my beloved Jetta Sport, it's still in pristine condition so I gave it to my father, he will enjoy it some more years.

I got a brand new 2020 Tiguan AllSpace Highline with R-Line package in ruby red, since the Jetta was used mainly by my wife, she will use this SUV, however, I did all the negotiations, so I consider it mine

Buying a car here in Peru is a bit of a slow process, it can take between 3 to 4 weeks due to all the registrations and permits you need, so I expect to have it in a couple of weeks.

Total price was $42,390 including all taxes (I still have to pay around $500 for the next 3 years but that's a different tax...), I was looking into a BMW 420 Gran Coupe but my wife wanted an SUV, so I will keep the GLI and she will use this one.

I will post some pics after I pick it up :D

3-4 weeks to buy a car? **** I can buy guns faster than that!

Congrats on the new ride though.

Yeah, that's crazy.

When I got my vehicle I submitted my loan app to my credit union online (5 minutes). By the end of the day they called/said it was approved. Sent the purchase order from the dealer (via email) and they cut a check.

When I went to the dealer I was there for about 15 min (handed them a check and signed my paperwork) and drove away with my car.

Yes, it's the 2.0T, Basically the same engine as my GLI but tamed at only ~180HP. I will install APR stage 1 after the warranty expires in 3 years

The process is a pain, I have to submit the loan request, wait for it to be approved, then I have to register it with the taxes collecting entity and the Public Registry entity here, bureocracy at it best! Also the licence plates are another story...

After that I have to pay a tax to "luxury" for 3 years...

In this case, since I got a loan for it, the process is longer. My GLI was paid in cash and took around 3 weeks.

I've not yet officially taken delivery of the car but the dealership send me some pictures. I hope to pick it up next week, I have to get an additional permit for the tinted windows...
