Power Cinema 6

Great News.

So far, Power Cinema 6 is allowing me to use a set top box with my ATI 650 Theater Capture Card. And there is no notable delay from the time I press a key until I see a change on my TV set. And, unlike my problems with Catalyst Media Center, it actually works under Windows Vista Ultimate with Service Pack 2 installed and all Windows updates applied.

QAM Digital Cable Tuning Works perfectly, Finding and labling all my channels that Local Comcast has on my "Basic" Cable Package I pay for in connection with my Internet Service. I have some 130 unencrypted QAM TV Channels and a Total of 241 channels if you count all the locked out encrypted channels.

Most important to me is the NO lag in the playback of a set top box. Where Windows Media Center and Snapstream have about 3 seconds of encoding delay, Power Cinema 6 is transparent in the use of my remote. Which makes navigating the Menus, Guide, or just changing channels much easier! :)*

Interesting, I've given up on CMC and removed it from my Vista Boot, but I did have it working under SP2? If you can call what CMC does as "working"...but the fact that Power Cinema 6 finds all the QAM channels you have in your area (BTW your lucky, we're down to just the locals channels in HD now, and a few SD channels ~ 45 music) is good news in case ATI decides to Partner with that band of tools again and hopefully release a new CMC version when the 7## ? card(s) come out...especially if it can be obtained and used on the TV wonder 650's. etc. Especially if it brought QAM via ATI CMC software into XP.... That would be very welcome for me.

Lucky indeed,…

We used to get about ~140 Clear QAM channels but now we’re down to just the locals (both in SD and HD) and a few others. There are also about 30 to 40 audio service channels (music channels) for maybe a total of ~60 channels or so.
