Does anyone know the proposed specs of the Radeon 2 (GPU core speed and memory speed)? Availability?

I heard that it originally was planned at 200MHz/200MHz DDR (400MHz). With the introduction (be it in press release only) of the GeForce2 Ultra at 250MHz, will ATI bump of the frequency of the Radeon 2 as well?

Incidently, Creative Labs will be shipping their GeForce2 Ultra in volume starting October.

SideWinder information leaked! - 10:06 pm EST - diesel []
Why is it that the Europeans are always first getting the latest news and info on Radeon? According to www.3dconcept.ch(German)... (a bad translation :)

The new Radeon 256 chip from ATI is not even on the market, but information has already circulated around the internet about its successor.

Codenamed "SideWinder", the chip may possibly be released in the second quarter of 2001 according to their roadmap. Together with the usual fillrate increase, ATI will continue to develop primarily the geometry abilities of the Radeon.

Some of the plans are freely programmable Vertex Shaders inclusive programmable T&L. Programmable T&L will possibly be also implemented in NV20 and by 3dfx's future GPU.

rage3d.com has almost all of the ATI news ever available since August 1999 :) though we started posting news in 1998, those archives were lost.
