RadeOn 256

I'm extremely excited for the New ATI products. I have to say I am a little bias, but that is because I simply LOVE my All-in-wonder, but I do recognize NVidia as a better product in the 3d arena, UNTIL NOW! I can't wait to see a RadeOn ALL-IN-WONDER! Just to make sure, the HDTV decoder will allow you to watch HDTV broadcast on your monitor right? Or will it just output HDTV signals to a compatible display? I'm an idiot on some of this stuff...

Yup should be able to watch it on your monitor! Probably depends on what board you get too. Will be many different Radeon configurations. So keep an eye out!

I am excited about the AIW Radeon (too). But I was dissapointed at (what appears to be) the AIW Radeons lack of on-board HDTV decoding. Much like the low-cost Geforce2 MX boards the Radeon will also be able to display HDTV on the PC monitor with a digital receiver card. I have a PII-350 with a Diamond Viper 550. I want to do some video editing (not professionally but good quality is desirable). I picked up an AIW Pro (the old one based on ATI Rage Pro) just for temp use unless it was satisfactory, which it isn't. But I was impressed with its full screen TV scaling. I know the RAGE theater chip is on the AIW 128 32MB and the AIW 128 Pros, and is supposed to have consumer TV quality TV on the PC as well as better TV output (and hence enhanced video capture and video out). In order to achieve 720x480 30fps video capture you need a P3-700 or so. I read somewhere that the upcoming AIW Radeon would only need a P2-300 to do the same but there is no such indication on ATI's web pages as of now. If video editing was a relatively major reason for my leaning towards the AIW cards then I could settle for an AIW-128 Pro and a better CPU for the same price as the AIW-Radeon. But as a (not too frequent) gamer I am still leaning towards the AIW-Radeon (unless a Geforce2 MX comes with a good enough video capture and TV out support (but I doubt they will compare to the ATI Rage Theater quality (and hence I will likely be yet another buyer of the AIW-Radeon)).
I would have liked the AIW-Radeon that much more if it had the following:-
1> Better video capture than the AIW 128 Pro. (Does it???).
2> On-board HDTV decoder.
3> Higher Pixel rate (Not all of the polygons in the level are going to have three textures per polygon). A higher pixel rate would be better for complex outdoor scenes of cities, etc.).
But it is still one of the best solutions for my gaming and video editing desires and I am likely to go for it.

the all in wonder radeon is able to output to your monitor if you have a monitor with an hdtv connector at the end of it
