So who is getting GBA next week?

I've had a Japanese one with Mario Advance and F-Zero for a month now. I plan on picking up Castlevania next week.

You should enjoy it . . . it's an awesome portable and is a BIG improvement over the GBColor.

I'll be getting one although probably not next week. I'm gonna wait a month or two and see what the titles are like. I don't like any of the colours but I'd get the purple I guess (goes better with the Gamecube I'll be getting)

Gotta like a gamer with "Fashion Sense"......... hehehe ;)

Seriously tho, I'm gonna get a GBA too..... but there's no way in hell I'm gonna camp for one tho...... are these things gonna be hard to find like PS2's the first day or are they supposed to have enough inventory to meet the demand?

Thanks!

Game store near me already has a couple to sell. Said he had a whole stack at the beginning of the day, down to 2 at the end of the day.

I've heard about some stores selling the GBA software early but not the units. I've been to a couple of stores already and they've all said that all their units have been spoken for through pre-orders. I'm sure there will still be plenty to find...check out Toys R Us, EB, WalMart, heck even Zellers. Sometimes you find that everyone rushes to the big-name stores and you can score quite a few things from the cheapy stores Good-Luck all

Im lucky enough to live in a region where they're too dumb to spend a few 100$ for a handheld, heck they probably dont even know what a gameboy is.. I checked with the wall mart and they only had around 10 pre-orders out of 30 units they'll receive next week.

As for the ps2 fiasco, i dont think it will happen with gba, sure, 500k units isnt much for the entire north america but they will ship over a million in the next few weeks following the launch, so there is no "have to wait for 6 months" to get a gba. I heard nintendo can manufacture over 2M gba per month right now and will double that by march 2002.. Expectation to sell over 100M GBAs by 2005/2006. Considering that nintendo actually make a PROFIT on the hardware, add the software sales to that and damn....nintendo will be freaking rich. I wish i had some money left to buy some actions.

Nintendo's going to make a huge amount of money from GBA as well as Gamecube (I'm including software sales in this)...not only that but they've already made a fortune from the Pokemon franchise as well.

The store I went to was one of those little self-business ones. The kind where u can trade and sell games. He had connections i think. Pretty cool looking thing.

I got to play one at EB a while ago...it was running Mario Advance. Pretty cool screen. Just wish the thing was backlit

im interested in getting one after playing mario2 on it the other day.

are they gonna be making expansion packs for it that could say - play MP3's similar to what some of the Palms can do? just wondering.

i think the GBA is pretty sweet especially becuase it is backwards compatible with my old GB (not color) from way back in my junior high days.

i think i want the Super Dodge Ball remake - that game rocked for nes!

got mine today with tony hawk2, awesome handheld really, when the 3rd parties will warm up we'll see the snes and genesis days back on that baby.

as for the question above about mp3s, yes, there is a 3rd party (madcatz i think?) that will have an mp3 add-on, also a TV tuner, and a palm type of interface to store memos or whatever you want..
