SteelRising

I'm mostly a fan of Eurojank games but I'm pausing my Buy Button on this one.

Mars: War Logs I enjoyed, but I did not enjoy Greedfall. /subscribed to see if SteelRising holds up interest long-term.

With Greedfall, it was an interesting game for the first 5 hours, but then it seemed to take a step back and go in the direction of being generic, then put on repeat until the campaign was completed.

Anyone playing? It’s a pretty neat game, good visuals, Bloodborne type combat minus the souls-like difficulty. Very linear, but plenty enjoyable enough.
I was intrigued by it, but seeing 'souls like' was putting me off, I just don't have the patience for them. If this game skips the difficulty then I'll pick it up on discount. Much as I love euro jank I don't love it at full price :D

Interesting...had never even heard of that but watching some videos it looks kinda like Elex on Mars. I added it to my wishlist. You liked it?

I wouldn't compare it to Elex at all haha. It's more linear, less challenging, and combat is turn based if I remember right. It's also a 15 hour game -vs- Elex's 60 - 80.

Mars: War Logs was a budget title, i also wouldn't compare it to elex. That being said it wasn't bad, but i prefered Elex. As for the combat, it wasn't turn based.

I don’t blame you :p

Difficulty is fairly easy, with a strength build anyway. most bosses are 1 attempt, some 2. Maps are standard linear>unlock shortcuts>progress to next boss type affairs.

Story and dialogue are backdrops, which is good because some of the French naming really throws me.

All in all, it’s a good, good looking but not stellar time killer. No regrets with the purchase.

That's good to hear, I always prefer the in your face type of build.

I’m finally getting close to the end of this and have to say, it’s been a pleasant surprise, and getting better towards the end. Glad I grabbed it

What controller are you using? I have been wanting to get a new one for the PC as my old ds4 was good but too many games didn't utilize the button layouts

Using a PS5 controller and the controls in this are pretty simple to get a hold of.
