Titan TV and Catalyst Media Center

"I found CMC to be fairly functional overall and fairly feature rich."

Unfortunately Cyberlink, for all their great player software, doesn't do much if anything in the way of CC . The other prob I've had is that some other software I've got also licenses Cyberlink code, so it can be *interesting* getting everything working. I do realize that expecting good CC handling is kind of like beating a dead horse, but I still complain every chance I get in hope of raising awareness -- apologies.

"Having said that, I wouldn’t use CMC for personal use when far superior software products are so clearly out there."

Unfortunately I agree too much with that philosophy -- unfortunate because it'd be a lot cheaper if I didn't feel that way. :D

Has anyone tried the PowerCinema free-upgrade at http://www.cyberlink.com/cinema/ati/3/free-upgrade.jsp?

Sure, people have tried it, but this is a fairly old patch now. This free upgrade was for ATI OEM versions of PowerCinema 3 only and was not officially applicable to other OEM versions from the likes of Sapphire, Powercolor and so on (without a hack). To put things in perspective, PowerCinema is now on version 5.

At this point PowerCinema 5 and Catalyst Media Center are noteworthy improvements over this older software.

Bo, Hiss, Hinesville

Bo, Hiss, Hinesville

I don't have a problem with Titan downloading the guide. The problem I have is it's downloading the guide for a nearby city. This, even though my city is a major city compared to it. It gives me the Comcast Cable Analog listings for Hinesville GA, when I enter any zip for Savannah, GA.

Does anybody know where it stores the downloaded file?

I got a big traffic ticket in Hinesville!

My Catalyst Media Center, version 1.0.4210, works swimmingly! I live outside of the Atlanta suburb of Stone Mountain. When it asks me to choose a cable provider, it gives me about 15 choices, because of all of the cable systems in my area. Titan TV updates every time I log on to my computer. Do you have a firewall? Make sure you allow access rights to the Catalyst Media Center services in your firewall and system configuration utility.

I have installed PowerCinema 6 and IMHO, Catalyst Media Center has superior video quality and the EPG is just as good.

I share your grief with this one. I actually had to find out through process of elimination on how to get certain problems fixed with the TV Wonder Catalyst Media Center. The customer service department is one of the worst places to go to. They're almost as useless as the ones at Sirusxm radio. When I called ATI about not being able to get video either before or after taping something, they claimed "They'd have someone call me back about it to get the problem taken care of," but no one gave the courtesy of calling me.......so, through prayer and process of elimination, I count out you had to enable the timshift. I won't go through the customer service against because they're useless.

As far as the epg goes, it works great in windows xp pro, but I can't get it to work in windows 7, even if I install it in compatibility mode. The only thing I get is "Invalid key" or "Unknown" when I put my zip code in. I just now about fifteen minutes ago got the program guide to work, but there's no shows listed in it.
