University options for kid

So my son has following options

UoGlasgow UK -> but needs AAA which we won't find out till August 2023
Cardiff UK -> but needs BBB which we won't find out till August 2023
Uo British Columbia Canada -> however, got in Arts major which allows him to do Computer Sciences but Okanagan something campus (not Vancouver) ranked 25th for Computer Sciences and Uni is top 40 globally
Virginia Tech US -> got in Computer Engineering/Science major (ranked 29th for Computer Sciences) but rated ~300+ in global rankings
University of California Merced Campus -> -> will probably turn Mexican after this :bleh:
Michigan State (as above) -> Ranked 160 globally (74 in US)

Wtf should I do.

Still awaiting Penn, Purdue and University of Toronto. All American Uni need a response by 1st May.

So confused right now.

Yes but plane is 1 hour and also like 80 bucks so I don't care much about the distance. Also campus is like 2 mins by car from Kelowan airport or whatever that ass end of nowhere city is called.
For me it's the massive distance from Dubai that kills the option. It is like 20 hours on plane -> about 24 door to door.

However, if I accept a job in CA then it is only 7 hour flight hop both on west coast. Decisions.

Yeah if you ended taking the CA job, then all the west coast schools could turn out :D

So he got into Penn State as well but in Berhand campus not University Park. These guys really want to screw international students.
Waiting on Purdue.

Ok he got into Purdue but not in West Lafayette.

Wtf.

So now which one should we pick?

Purdue Northwest
Penn State Behrend Erie
Virginia Tech
Michigan State

So confused right now.

My gut reaction would be Virginia Tech being the choice I'd make for myself, but I'm biased towards specialization as opposed to generalist Universities.

My gut reaction is similar, I'd go with Virginia Tech. But honestly all of those are fine options.

Yeah, I want to pay fees for Virginia tech. I am just waiting for my son's Canadian study permit. If that shite comes before then I don't need to pay $400 for booking a spot for him.

University of British Columbia is Top 40 globally. Don't think we can go wrong with it.

It ranks even higher for it's Computer Science department apparently (21st). Although again... I'm extremely bias here...

Yes, it does. He also got into a great campus (Okanagan) which has 16 to 1 student to teacher ratio. I just think it makes sense to put him there instead of any uni in US. Plus hopefully, I won't have to worry about safety and all that nonsense. Anyways, I might move to Cali / SF next year and then it will be even better as Okanagan is a short hop (6-7 hours).
