Unrecord: Ultra realistic shooter

So, head movement and gun pointing how is that being tracked differently unless VR. We all know it will not be anything close to this if released and this is just a mock up of 'what they would like' to do only. Unless I can play a demo then I am calling it.

The "gameplay" in that trailer looks like it needs VR in order to be actually playable/fun to play.

It didn't really looked that visually impressive to me. The hyper real look feels like it is mostly driven by photo style texturing and them keying in a very realistic looking lighting colour palette. The camera thing helps of course. But otherwise... I'd be hard pressed to say you couldn't emulate this look and feel with an older engine than the UE5 they are using. So I think it's easily do able, but I got strong VR vibes as well.

Gun/arm animations and walking motion give it that extra realism. Sure the environments can be done outside of Unreal 5 if worked on heavily but the whole thing still is a head above anything out there. Really hope its not just for VR. First mod would be a reticle obviously.

Honestly this kind of hyper-realism makes me uncomfortable. I'd rather play Unreal Tournament, with cartoon characters double-jump backflipping all over the place while firing triple rockets, than play out a fantasy about murdering realistic people begging for their lives.

Yea they pixelated the faces of the characters I guess they knew it might make some recoil if they look too real. They should swap them out for demons and/or nazis or something. Keep the realism but make the targets PG-13.

the pixelated faces are just because the npc models are way less realistic than the "world". So censoring them hides that side of the video and ends up making it feel more realistic.

Pretty neat but I don't think it will translate as well with normal mouse aim, unless they're doing some odd movement tweening or something.

Yea makes sense the hard part is faces in games. Or maybe its just not ready yet for prime time.

Perma fish bowl? Hard pass lol. Realistic my ass.
"Unrecord is a single-player FPS that tells the story of a tactical police officer from the perspective of his body camera"

Wide FOV is pretty realistic in that regard.

Yes I get it and saw the video but I am not feeling it. Looks like a 320P body cam footage and also will probably give me a headache after playing for 5 mins. I had to turn off the video after 1 minute because of all the bobs and fishbowl effect.
