This may seem like a dumb question, however I haven't had a lot of experience using Google Pay.
I've recently picked up a Smartwatch and it works with Google Pay. I was never very interested in using GP with my phone, as if I need to take my phone out of my pocket, I may just as well pull out my wallet to use it.
Anyway, with the watch, I don't need to even reach for a pocket. So I've set it up and looks to working. Without going out and making purchases/experimenting with this I'm hoping someone may know the answer.
To have GP activated on a device you are required to have a secure lockscreen. So can I deactivate GP on my phone, and will the GP through the watch still work this way? I don't like having to input a PIN/pattern/etc on my phone.
The watch only requires unlock after it is removed/placed on your wrist.
