Microsoft has brought back the deal where you pay $1 to upgrade existing Live Gold or Game Pass for PC to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. You can purchase up to 3 years of Xbox Live subscriptions prior to upgrading for $1 and it will convert those 3 years into Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.


Do not turn on the auto renew when adding the Live Gold to your account


I just did this by buying one 24-month subscription from Costco for $99 and one 12-month subscription for $54. Added thosse to my Xbox account and upgraded my current "Xbox Game Pass for PC" to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Works out to about $4.11 a month instead of $15 a month. With Microsoft adding EA play and the purchase of Bethesda Studios - This is a no brainer.

Yes, only first time Ultimate users can do this conversion up to 36 months.

I did it in June of last year. I also added on 6 months a while back when Newegg had a buy 3 months Ultimate get 3 months free for something like $40. My subscription currently runs until 1/19/2023.
 
Does this still work? I thought they ended this a week ago or so? Want to try it out before it gets closed down.
