I just bought Resident Evil and Resident Evil 4
I have made it to the end of the 4th Chapter in Resident Evil 4 with a fully upgraded Punisher, Riot Gun and .223 Semi-Auto with an unmodified Striker (~10-15 hours). I haven't gotten past the first part of Resident Evil save for collecting your first defense item (~5 minutes)
I like Resident Evil 4 and loathe Resident Evil. Is there something I am doing wrong? I lose interest in RE quickly, I don;t know what it is, maybe the undead zombies .... Also purchased Soul Caliber 2 *glee* |
i like the first re games better, but the psx versions seem to have a lot more soul than than reMake. re4 is a great game but insanely short. glad to see your having fun with it.

I loved the first ones: Resident Evil, 2, 3: Nemesis, Code Veronica X, but I boght Outbreak for ps2 and was very disappointed. I guess I should have read on it before buying it but I really like the old style better.
Before you used to have to complete the main game to unlock mini-games....in this one the main game is only made of mini-games...which destroys the spirit of the game completely imo. |
Hi,
I am currently playing RE4 and just bought RE1 (GC) and RE Veronica (DC)... Too sad that 2 and 3 are so technicaly bad :o |

Resident Evil is unplayable. Especially after playing part 4.

I have RE 1 and 2 on my PSX and I have Veronica on my DC. It took me a good while to get into the older RE's than it did to get into Code Veronica.

Resident Evil 4 for the win.
I rented it, beat it, and loved it so I went and bought it. |
Resident Evil 4 is one of the best games EVER made...technically, artistically, and gameplay wise.

The controls and camera angles in the first RE (including the remake) were a real love/hate thing. Actually I don't think anyone really loved them either, just tolerated. So no, that's not unusual that you love 4 and hate the original.

I just love the fact that the GC port of 2,3, and Code Veronica still retail for $39.99 in most places...both used and new!
I remeber when Capcom released these ports for this price, and they haven't changed This, single handely, has prevented me from picking these titles up. Its ridiculous. I guess they're kinda of a rarity now. But my local Gamestop has them for 30 - 40$ still, they probably are the best versions to have of these titles. Unless you have the Dreamcast versions, which are essentially the same I hope someday to procure these though....anyone who has them, can you tell me if its worth the money? Even if for nostalgia/collector's sake? |

I'm with you...RE4 was absolutely AMAZING! I just can't go back to the original anymore...so it gathers dust

I bought RE2 for the first time when I had my playstation, and ended up selling it, then I rebought a playstation a long while after and bought RE2 for the second time, as well as RE1, and don't regret it at all. I personnally think RE2 is the best of the series. I used to finish it in under 2 hours easily...that's how much I played it. I haven't played Re Zero (or whatever the name is) on the Gamecube though, but I doubt it would best the ps series. The first, the second, and Code Veronica X are my favourites. |

In the GC remake of RE did they re-do the atrocious voice acting? I love the game but thinking back on the dialog makes me cringe.
"Barry! Wheres Barry?" |

starting with the remake, then zero, and now RE4, which has the best voice acting so far only problem is the scripts sometimes has cheese lines  but it fits within the context of the universe thats been established |
