I didn't even notice it until you said something. The GTX 260 was dusty and some must have got on my hands when I uninstalled it. Don't lose any sleep over it.:p

So they are making the same design flaw as the previous Radeons where the shroud surround it is flat and if used in multi-gpu setups where they sit adjacent to each other, the fans won't be able to pull in air?

Meteor_of_War May 23, 2012 11:28 AM

Yeah I probably wouldn't use these reference 670's in a tri or quad SLI config because of their coolers. Dual SLI is probably OK though.

BababooeyHTJ May 24, 2012 08:09 PM

I really need to find a good way to place two monitors on my desk. I would love to easily be able to switch between my Catleap and Planar. I'm thinking a couple of these brackets or these.

Excuse the mess on my desk. :o

Meteor_of_War May 24, 2012 09:10 PM

Well I don't feel so bad about the mess of wires behind my desk now.:p

Its only EVGA using shrouds like that, not sure why. Real reference design 670's and 80's have room for air flow.

I plan on cleaning that up a bit any day now. :bleh:

Meteor_of_War May 25, 2012 11:30 AM

And as soon as I'm 100% better from my surgery I will be doing a dusting and long overdue tidy up of cable management in my PC.

I will even clean the dust marks off the GTX 670.;)

Meteor_of_War May 25, 2012 09:07 PM

Some recent pictures.

:)

BababooeyHTJ May 25, 2012 09:17 PM

Very nice, I should post a pic of the back of my motherboard tray for a good laugh. ;)

Meteor_of_War May 25, 2012 10:43 PM

You think that looks nice? Look where I have the USB 3.0 bracket mounted.

All I can say is its a good thing no one sees that mess with the side panel on.

I have the second monitor arm you posted it is great. I had a similar problem but if you put the arms at the sides of your desk then you can swing them out of the way when need be. This is what I did to put 3 monitors on my desk and I have less space than you. you should be able to do it easily with one of those mounts.

Considered Ergotron? They are very nice and good quality:

How do you like the monoprice arm? I have a similar one on my tv and when I swing the arm to any real angle the tv won't be level. For what I'm looking to do I would need the arm swung out most of the time and having my display cocked would bug the crap out of me.

That looks like a quality mount but is a bit out of my price range.

I second the ergotron recommendation. I have one at work and it is very nice. At home I have a monoprice mount for my TV. While it is sturdy enough, it is not nearly as rigid nor moves as smoothly as the ergotron.

They have some cheaper options on New Egg

Yeah, they are a bit pricey. You get really good quality for your money though.

I use this one on my desk at work. Very nice and I am the envy of my co-workers.

The mounts do seem really well built, thats for sure.

Meteor_of_War May 26, 2012 10:57 AM

Yeah they are sturdy as anything, and really heavy.
