Does the card with the custom cooler get noticeable louder in that configuration?

no, it's inaudible compared to the reference cards and chassis cooling. VRM's on the custom card are 25C cooler than the reference card designs, GPU core is 15C cooler. review in progress :)*

Wow... you guys are crazy when it comes to these rigs, totally awesome tho! :) Well done!

I finally got around to making the stock Intel cooler go bye-bye

The 2500K can finally stretch its legs

(5.1GHz was ~1hr stable on 1.40V but I want to be able to Fold with this thing again eventually so I've been slowly bumping up the core to get it a little more stable)

Nice. the H100i is a very clean, and nice looking unit. But I'm really looking forward to the Swiftech H220

http://www.legitreviews.com/news/14832/

Nice OC on the 2500k as well :) I had mine at 5.0Ghz, but I finally backed it down to 4.5. Didn't see much of a difference to warrant the "balls the walls" 24/7 so now I just run it at 4.5 @ 1.363v

Half the reason for the 5GHz target is so I won't have to turn on the wall heater in my room. Until winter ends I figure I can get away with a little extra fun :p

What CPU cooler were you using before and how much has the h100i improved temps? (load/idle)

I've got the same CPU running at roughly the same clock speeds as you so I"m interested.

The rig in my sig is running on a full water-cooler system. The one in the pic is covering a Bloomfield i7 950 @ 3.07GHz. The h100i replaces a Thermaltake V1.

Not sure about the thermal compound state of the V1, but I easily knocked 10c off my temps with the h100i.

That is, if you can maintain the high FPS that would make 144hz truly fantastic. Drop to 100 or so below and the change would = :(

I still love 60hz. No need to worry if my FPS drops below that :)

caveman-jim Jan 11, 2013 09:53 PM

90fps on 120hz is better to me than 60 on 60. /shrug

I have both fans set at 'performance' so the noise level is comparative to a regular cooler/fan setup imo. If I crank them to max level (for benchmarking), I would compare it to having a floor fan on medium speed.

New part arrived today (680 Hydro). Fishy sticks to frozencpu for an awesome packing job. No way that thing was going to get damaged.

And the temps she runs me at 5.1 @ 1.4 60c on ivy? Yes please!

CurrentlyPissed Jan 18, 2013 12:18 AM
