Either way great setup!

I have to agree with this. Running $4000 worth of video cards on a $650 monitor seems a little ridiculous to me. :bleh:

I would be all over one of those 1440p 21:9 displays or that 1440p gsync display if I had the cash.

AdamK47 Sep 11, 2014 07:13 AM

Hmmmmm.... nah.

aviphysics Sep 12, 2014 06:34 PM

New parts time. Still not sure if I got the wrong motherboard . Still have 15 days to return it if things don't work out.

BTW, If you were wondering, the rest of my desk that is out of frame is a total disaster right now.

Megaman Sep 12, 2014 06:42 PM

That should be fine. Also.... I can seeeeeeee yooouuuuu :bleh:

Greasy Sep 12, 2014 07:12 PM

Waits for Alexis to chop KAC in the background stalking him....

bill dennison Sep 13, 2014 02:57 PM

the roll a/c filters cut to size lasted about two months and very little pass through dirt so are working well

BababooeyHTJ Sep 13, 2014 08:42 PM

Thats a great idea, I really need to try that out.

AdamK47 Sep 14, 2014 01:47 AM

That is a lot of dust. I'd go crazy dealing with dust getting into my computer room if I lived in the desert.

desert with two dogs there is no hiding from dust, just have to filter the air before it goes in to the system

you should see my a/c filter after 30 days

or some of the ones I take out of rental houses, sometimes I can barely pull the filter out with the unit running they are plugged solid with dirt

KAC Sep 14, 2014 02:51 AM

I used to dust my case. Now ain't nobody got time for that. Haven't dusted in over a year. Pretty sure there is enough dust to make 20 dust bunnies out of it.

Damn, will clean it out this weekend

daPhoenix Sep 14, 2014 04:23 AM

Aren't the maids supposed to do that? :bleh2:

KAC Sep 14, 2014 04:35 AM

That's actually a good idea. I don't trust the maid with my PC but can ask the man servant to clean it out.

t0adp1p3 Sep 14, 2014 07:31 AM

My dog sheds like crazy, so I take mine apart and clean out all the filters about once every other week. Wipe out whatever dust is in there. The good thing is, she has white fur and my PC is black. So it's easy to tell it needs a cleaning, and easy to tell when I am done.

bill dennison Sep 14, 2014 05:38 PM

filters look to be stopping all the dog hair and big dust the very fine dust seems to pass through the rads and fans without sticking
and the way the my case is the air flows through two compartments before it gets to the motherboards, so 99% of the dust that gets through ends up in the very bottom pedestal with the pumps where it don't hurt anything

Redeemed Sep 14, 2014 08:51 PM

Yeah I love have filters over all the vents. I don't really clean the innards of my rig. I just regularly clean the filters. Innards stay nice and clean. At most, with the unit powered off and unplugged, I'll take a monitor wipe and just quickly wipe the large surface areas down and that's it.

Filters FTW!!!

this a million times. At first i though, "oh great, big part of sidepanel is open so the rig gets lots of air, yay!" After a few weeks i was more like "Ngaaaaaah fuuuuuu, there is like furrrrrrrrrrr everywhere in there. WTF? One cat CAN'T leave that much fur....seriously".

So, yes, filters for teh win!

Jkmetal23 Sep 24, 2014 07:31 PM

Adam I see you have all of the silent hill games released on the pc. A kindred soul....

How did you come by all of them, as silent hill 2-4 are very rare.

Trivium Nate Sep 25, 2014 12:01 AM

Original box copies bought off of either Amazon or eBay years ago. Most of the games I have are the physical versions. Even today I'll buy a box copy of a game over digital if it is available.

Nice. I hope you bought them before prices got out of control. I got silent hill 2 for around $10 in 07, I just beat out some guy for silent hill 3 for 35 and I found silent hill 4 as a local toystore was going out of business. Only $6.

Re-arangned my room again. Picture taken today!

shrike126 Oct 12, 2014 07:29 PM

My current desktop setup.

There's a Ubuntu home server box in the black cabinet on the right. Rest of the home network is down stairs. Once I finish some cable management I'll share a picture of that.
