I think gamersnexus tried out all different fan configurations and that was the best option for both cpu and gpu temps.

Because then the pretty lighting gets obstructed when placed the other way :bleh:

Usually thats a radiator on that case so probably best to throw that to the back. I almost bought that case but the layout just didn't work for me. And I'd need 6000 fans.

Dads build so far.. Sorry for the shitty quality, my phone is garbage.. all that is needed now is for us to wait for the damn power supply to come. lol.

KAC Jul 14, 2019 12:08 AM

I was about to say that is a pretty clean looking build and then noticed no wires lol.

Looks like a lot of poor gays got on the AMD bandwagon. :bleh:

Mangler Jul 18, 2019 06:12 AM

Look, we all know that the human eye can't see above 24 fps so ryzen 3xxx was the perfect choice for us.

Coming from a 1700x, was a welcoming upgrade.

DeathKnight Jul 21, 2019 04:14 PM

New CPU cooler installed (Fractal Design S24). Left the front case fans in so it's push-pull. Mounting it up front necessitated removing the HDD cage. The two spinner drives got moved up top and the Blu-ray burner came out. I'll get an external enclosure for it later.

Also replaced the crappy Silverstone low profile fan I had on the bottom. Bearing was crapping out and causing quite a bit of vibration.

KAC Jul 21, 2019 09:47 PM

Man that fan on the board though. :hmm:

He needs to get himself a 9900k and a 2080Ti if he wants to take out some pent up feelings.

Come on KAC stop being a toggle and Ti up even Dave has one now :3

KAC Jul 22, 2019 08:07 PM

Motherboard fans are horrible for sound. Such a small fan must make some noise.
As for me and 9900K. I have asked this question multiple times and gotten the answer to not do this upgrade.
2080 Ti I may do something if there is a game that challenges me at 1440P. Thus far there is no such thing.

lmchv Jul 22, 2019 09:36 PM

Replaced the 3x140mm case fans by 5x120mm RGB ones, now it's cooler and quieter :)

That case looks so old school. Where is the disco or are you going all blue only?

It's quite modern, I think the pics give it no justice. It's so far the most complex case I've ever work with, however, it has endless combinations and options, love it so far.

All components support AURA integrated with my mainboard, so it's a rainbow if I choose to, right now it's displaying solid colors in a loop.

The fans helped a lot with cooling, I have the processor (all cores) at 5Ghz and the video card at 2060Mhz, the temperatures are around 70C at full load. Compared to my old Core i7-5930K, it's a 40%+ improvement in processor performance in syntethic benchmarks. In games, it shines as always :)

Now, I have to save for the keyboard, I've seen an ASUS ROG one compatible with AURA as well :D

Some. A whole bunch of old games that I play still do.

Witcher 3, GTA V, Far Cry 5, Skyrim, Civ VI, PCars 2...

Omega53 Aug 2, 2019 07:29 AM

Added bottom fans. I bought a vertical GPU mount but it doesn't fit with the bottom fans installed.

demo Aug 2, 2019 11:47 PM

I looked into buying a vertical mount for that case and was told you can mount it 1 pci slot higher and the fans or slim rad will fit.

Nunz Aug 3, 2019 05:36 AM

The Lian Li is the next case I’m buying

Mangler Aug 3, 2019 05:50 AM

I'd wait for the revision that is coming out in September, the current version is a bit picky when it comes which radiators that can fit in the side.

The particular mount I bought was hitting to IO shield built into the motherboard. I found another that looks like it should clear it without issue. I'm going to hopefully be installing that tonight.
