Any monitor that has a USB port attached to it is a good monitor imo.

That is so true.

I have one of my monitors at an angle, so I can still use the USB port in that one...but just barely.

Get some acetone and a cotton ball. Test a portion of the plastic first to make sure it doesnt mar up the plastic.

Usually you can get reduced acetone (or reduce it with water, or whatever) to find a mix that wont ruin the plastic but will easily remove screenprinted bull**** from electronics.

Installed my 'new' Asus Formula Rampage mobo yesterday:

caveman-jim Jun 11, 2009 11:51 AM

I think your new boy's first birthday present should be another 4870 to join that one :D

Price cuts coming next month, supposed to drop it under $150... :runaway:

Did you pull the heatsinks on the chipset to apply AS5?

Nah, didn't pull the heatsinks - they looked pretty solid and I was impatient to get the board up and running.

Yeah, prices are dropping on the 4870s ... XFX 4870 1GB for $130 + ship via discount code SIZZLE15. Was $115 after code but price just jumped.

Don't you just love that case Lupine. So roomy and easy to work on. And the removable motherboard tray is a must in any future case I ever purchase. I just love that feature.

Mobo trays are great. Not absolutely necessary, but if you tend to trade components a lot (and a lot of people reading this thread do ) then they are definitely nice to work with.

I would have already posted dvd compy pics.... but there was a bad bios flash (due to a problematic bios released), and there's no way to recover from it. Since I can't RMA the whole board (thermal epoxy on the northbridge) and they haven't let me RMA just the bios chip, I may be using Biosman's services in the near future cause I don't want my system to be bricked.

Will post pics when it works though :D

Yeah, very nice addition - first case I've had that included a removable tray. Also like the CPU cutout, allowing access to CPU backplate w/o removing the mobo. Good stuff.

Here's my humble little beast I finished a couple days ago.

PC-60FB
Swapped out the front 140mm with a Yate Loon and replaced (and added) all 120mm's with Scythe S-Flex's. I'm very happy with the way it turned out, especially the temps and how quiet it is. My only regret is the wiring of the 12V cable - which I couldn't get to work any other way. Do they make extensions for those?

Nice looking dude.

And here I thought you were dead. Besides today, one post a year ago and a whole other year before that. Nice to see you're around still.

They do. Look here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...c=12V& Page=1

Greasy Jun 18, 2009 04:04 PM

Man, I need a new case. All these newer cases with the wire tunnels are making me drool.

This lian li I have doesn't have very good cable management features at all. It's big as hell though which is what I wanted.

Hey, amigo. Yeah, I've been around - just livin' the dream in St Louis Park. Years ago I got fed up with some of the people over in the PC Gaming forum, so I gave up on Rage for awhile and went over to HardOCP. Now work is blocking that site from me but I found out Rage still gets through.

I was going for the small form factor approach, didn't quite make it...

I reckon I'll pull out the main rig someday and snap some proper pics.
