Not a problem, you can still use it on the board. You have a Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD7, I have the X58A-UD5 with an i7-930 and I just plugged the 8-pin connector right into the baord, no problems :)

And your system looks good now, especially since you installed the power supply cover.

Peace.

Thank; I still don't like those stray fan-wires showing thru the front panel. Also, you guys were right about the fan-light. I forgot I had plugged that fan into one of my mobo case-fan, 3-pin outlets. Guess I need to come off the psu to get the lights. Have to say I'm still partial to my 800D :D

What stray-fan wires? I don't have any showing.

Again, not sure what's going on here. I have that fan plugged into my MB and the LED light works just fine.

Yeah, the 800D is a nice caas, though a tad too big and expensive. I nearly bought the 700D but decided to go with the HAF X instead.

I read where someone did a quick review and basically said the the 800D was more for water cooling whereas the HAF X was more for air cooling.

Dungeoncrawler Aug 18, 2010 10:08 PM

What are you using on your proc for cooling? Also, very neat cable management :).

It is the one for the fan on the front panel/door.

Got me then; possibly just defunct fan light(s).

caveman-jim Aug 19, 2010 08:46 AM

Don't biznatch too much, most people don't want the front LED fans illuminated :)*

Look carfully at the photo with all wires and notice the red wire coming off the fan. Notice how it's connected to the other red wire going to the top of the case. That the LED cable. Also, you do know that that case has an on/off LED switch at the top, right? Just above the reset switch.

As for the cable management, it's a pet peeve of mine. I hate sloppy wire jobs. In fact I re-did the wire job on the back of the case as I thought that was a bit sloppy.

Thanks.

Went to TigerDirect (I mean...CrapUSA) to get some 3 pin fan extenders. Some new pics:

*I am not endorsed by Corsair or Evga.

Dungeoncrawler Sep 1, 2010 01:18 AM

That Corsair must be a very popular cooler? I see it in a ton of pics in here.

Corsair H50, Awesome performance that isn't very noisy. Whats not to like?

Bearclaw Sep 1, 2010 08:33 AM

The H50 is, hands down, the BEST piece of equipment in this new rig. I idle around 19C and during games I max out at around 42C.

nice, I idle at around 30-35c with my Noctua air cooling at 4.4 and around 60-65c gaming and it hit 80c :O under hours of prime.. But I'm ok with 60-65 in CPU heavy games like ArmA2 & BC2.

Is there anyway to order more of the long screws that came with it? I would love to do a push/pull but only came with 4 screws and 1 corsair fan. I would need more of each.

caveman-jim Sep 4, 2010 02:27 PM

Take one to a local harware store and match up a longer length.

erek Sep 4, 2010 04:40 PM

Folding away... note that because of how cool the GTX 460 runs that my case fans are inactive and just dangling there...

Exotic your purchases make no sense to mankind. First you downgraded step by step gpu wise and now tri sli 480s for 1 23inch monitor. Too comical
