As for the bold, I chanted the same thing as I hit the power button after my new build. I was blown away when everything just worked the first time. I usually screw something up. :) |
Gonna have to buy some cables extenders for fans and maybe custom cables, the 3 240mm on the Raven 02 I have are molex only, so I have 3 extra molex that is a bitch to fit behind the back panel.
Also, freaking weirdest thing, I can't see the nvm-e drive in the BIOS... tried booting from the USB drive to install Windows and it was there. Goddamn it's fast though ! Here is my Crucial M550: ![]() And here's the 980 Pro :D ![]() Not super satisfied with temps, idleling at 33-ish but then again, open case. Will see with the airflow from my Raven, which is pretty amazing ! Had to use the paste supplied with the Noctua, probably gonna buy something better. Is Arctic Silver still the best thing ? Been a while since I checked that out. Installing Windows 10 from scratch took 8-9 minutes tops. |
Turn on PBO and hit that 200 MHz OC button.
|
Temps are fine. I Idle much higher on my 5900X. I do have a million things running in my tray though.
|
yeah ryzen just idles on the warm side im on water and my 3900x idles around 42C
|
Nice build  and that 980 pro is doing well :D
|
Show the build.
|
Pretty substantial upgrade. :-P

Here is a couple pics !
The Silverstone Raven RV-02E is an "inverted" case, mobo is installed in a 90° angle, taking all the fresh cold air from the bottom (fed by 3x 180mm fans) directly to the CPU heatsink / vid card / hard drive cage. The SSD is hidden behind the little heat sink plate besides the graphic card. ![]() Upright position ![]() With side panel and top cover on (the monitor / power / usb cables are routed to the top because of the motherboard "inversion", instead of coming out of the back - which is why there is a cover on the top, to protect the cabes while maintaining great airflow) ![]() Heatsink is about 2mm away from the plexi window. Happy with the beast ! Had a couple of "scares" with my 3080, on my older setup, kept hearing 3 beeps before hearing the BIOS beep... turns out the card tells you you're in legacy mode and not full UEFI. Also, the fans stop if the care is under 60°, made me panic when I noticed it ! All is good, super silent when it's on normal load  Gotta update the specs now :) |
Very nice Manga, thanks for the pics.

I used to think the chimney concept for cases was the best one until I forgot about the dust filter on the bottom. Out of sight out of mind and oh my god was it a dust magnet. Its still a good idea to get the coldest air from the floor but it should come from the sides or front/back where if any dust cloggin occurs youll see it.
I like the mobo orientation tho with all the connectivity on top. It makes for a challenge to make the cable management not sully the case but its doable. |
Ah!!! forgot you have the same case as me! Looks awesome
|
That a weird case. Tight build. Post benches.
