Woah. I just noticed that my computer has an LED fan in the front also... That makes a total of 4 fans that came with the default case. One at the top, one at the front, one on the side panel and one at the back...

Lots of interesting systems shown in this thread. My own rig (Q9550/ASUS P5E in a Lian-Li PC-201B) has relatively poor cable management so it's nothing to write about. For me, it's always been about the displays:

30" Gateway in the lower middle, 2x20" Dell 2001FP on the lower left and right, 3x20" widescreens (2x Dell 2001WP, 1 LG) on the upper row. I use a HD6950 to drive the four left monitors and a HD4650 to drive the two on the right.

Yes I am a Nicole Kidman fan :D

IMHO the most beautiful women in the world. I actually met her once...

Better looking in person.

Red headed little sloot, she's not that great.

She used to have red hair until 13 when it turned blonde.

I love the fan on top of the huge heat sink!

clerick Jul 28, 2011 02:32 AM

Okay flipped the fan to be exhaust from a suggestion on OCN. Now I have 66-68c load temp on both cards instead of one being 73-74 and the other 64ish. Also added another front intake

TriGGlety Jul 28, 2011 10:05 AM

Nice n cossy in there. Lolz. Feel the PC tech.

Exhaust is good. Its makes sence. Taking the air away on its natural course.
Blowing on seems wrong. Unless the air from the blower is compeletly cool.

I never blow these days, only exhaust.

Nunz Jul 28, 2011 02:10 PM

That case is a mess man. WTF happened.

Oh i just plugged everything in to test and see if it would work fine. I'll rewire soon.

mrk1283 Aug 4, 2011 09:38 PM

Okay!

650D Upgrade-rebuild started 7PM, finished 12:30am. No problem but testing many fan combinations took ages as did cable tidying :p

The USB3 port cables were long enough to root through the rear rivets nicely.

Quite happy with the upgrade, just got to replace the 200mm intake as the stock one is too noisy even on low. Tomorrow that will be sorted :)

Anybody makes a diss at the brown fans gets a slap

Famous last words man :p I said that once and soon turned into months!

riho Aug 6, 2011 03:20 AM

Is there something better in the world than being woken up on a Saturday morning because you're being delivered your new videocard :d

Finally got my last piece. After 1 month of messing around. Will post pics soon.

riho Aug 6, 2011 05:22 AM

Since I didn't get my new vid card with the other parts I had to install my old 4870

Ooh, new card arrived

Very minimalist package, but I like it. At first I thought the card doesn't have the bios switch since it didn't have a reference cooler and it was the red PCB not brown. But luckily it has.

And the finished product.

I bet some of you are asking why my PSU is upside down. Apparently it's meant to be mounted on the bottom, but my old case doesn't support that.
Already oc'd my 2500k to 4,5ghz. Now to flash the bios of my 6950 and I'm all set.

Great pics, thinking about the 650D for my next build. Curious what fan config you ended up with, and what are your system specs? Is that an ND-14 CPU heatsink?

Grats on the new hardware. However, I couldn't help but think the entire time, where is this man's desk.

logical Aug 6, 2011 02:39 PM

The case looks like its from 1999

Hey,

I've ended up keeping the Corsair fan at the top as that's silent, rear exhaust is via the 2x 120mm on the H80 heatsink and the front intake is a CoolerMaster MegaFlow 200mm which arrived today. It too is silent but I have it connected to a Zalman FanMate 2 just lowered the rpm a tiny bit for ultimate silence:

Specs:
i5 2500k @ 4.3GHz
8GB DDR3
Asus GTX460 1GB Top OC Edition
MSI-P67A-G45-B3 mobo
3x SATA II
Asus Xonar Essence STX soundcard
Corsair HX750 PSU

It most likely is :D

Anyways, it seems I'm **** out of luck regarding the unlocking of my 6950. It has the dual BIOS switch, but none of the methods of unlocking the shaders work. :(

Your card doesnt look like a reference card, I dont know why you thought it would be unlockable. Should of did a little more research. I think one MSI is unlockable although its not reference. My 6950 has the bios switch as well but isnt unlockable.

Get a new case, that one is an eyesore:bleh::lol:

I did the research. When I bought it from amazon it had the ref card on the pic.

caveman-jim Aug 6, 2011 07:56 PM

fyi, use the product number to check on the manufacturer website what the actual model is. amazon and other aggregate selling sites don't use actual pics, just stock pics.

I have not, I will wait for other people to try it on their cards before I try it on mine. I have read stories over at HOCP that people havent been able to di it on my particular card.
