That looks amazing CurrentlyPissed. Most setups like that the bezels really bother me. But it looks like the bezels on your monitors are thin enough I'd be able to ignore them with relative ease. What are your impressions thus far? Does it break the immersion or add to it? I'm a long ways off from ever having such a setup, but if the opportunity does present itself I'm just curious how distracting even such thin bezels may be. :)
Also you're the second poster to have your system setup so the speakers are behind the monitors- why? Wouldn't it make more sense to mount the monitors on the wall and not have them obstructing the sound? I'm sure they muffle it, even though the speakers are so close to you I'd think there'd be a noticable improvement if the monitors were'nt blocking the speakers. Or instead of mounting the monitors on the wall maybe get speakers stands and have the speakers on either side of the desk. Not on the desk, but on either side of it on tall enough stands. Also possible there's a method to ya'lls madness that I just haven't figured out as well. Either way incredible setup. Slightly jeoulous. |
Thanks. So far i love it. It takes some adjusting.. thsts for sure. The speakers being behind makes little difference. Sure could block some. But it would just reverb back off the wall again. I tested behind and infront and noticed little to no tonal change. Its not like they are smothered. The only downside to these monitors is no vesa mounting support. So if stands arent your thing i wojkd look elsewhere.

Nice setup. I would imagine that top HDD tray is removable though right? I would take it out of you aren't using any of that space. But that's me being picky :(

Yes it is, and I will be. Was after 11 when I finished assembly last night, I just wanted to get it setup and running. I gotta take out that cage, and I'm going to be mounting the fan I took out the back to the top, and I think I'm going to toss in one of the 120mm fans from my old case into the second slot in the front to get some cool air running to the HDDs.
I was just happy I had enough room for the 2nd 6870 in the 2nd PCI-E lane and still had room for it to breathe. This board is a lot better laid out then the Pro3, and this case is much roomier then my old one. |

Does the middle HD tray rotate or something? It looks different than Shadow's.
Edit:The Fractal Design web page says yes it can. |

Maverick is that a Corsair H100 mounted on the top exhaust? If it fits then I'm going to have to get this case and a H100

I like how you mounted your hard drives backwards, I didn't even think of doing that. I may have to do some re-wiring this weekend.
