I agree with you. Generally you won't need it since they do build a solid motherboard.
That said, I would never buy a reference video card from Asus when I can buy the same product from a vendor with better warranty service for the same price. Its also one concern that I have with their displays. I've seen people on the forums with legit issues having some serious trouble getting a replacement. The first batch of Asus 120hz displays always seem to tend to have issues. |

If you wanted an MSi board that does 3-way or Quad for 1150 you want the Xpower. It has a full 6 pin pcie to the board and PLX chip if you wish for more pcie lanes.. the Mpower and Formula only run at 8+4+4 in 3-way, and neither support 3-way SLI.. This, coincidentally, is related to what I was trying to explain about that Gigabyte board btw. BTW I had issues with my Maximus 4 Extreme and so did Hapatingjaky - very common problem with usb actually. I managed to fix mine, but hap never did and upgraded because of it iirc. |
Muhahahahaha....She is alive and showing some good potential, though with the help of the support team, it needs a BIOS upgrade to unlock the 4th and final video card.. :D
They asked for pics and i showed a few, and they said they never saw a setup pushed so close to its upgrade limits, not to mention the water cooling. |
Now it's much better...No longer looks like 10lbs of **** in a 5lb bag.

Still does, just harder to see now that the picture is dark. At least sleeve your fan cables.

Even if I used the flash, all you'd see is the enclosure and nothing else, since the bottom section where all the radiators and power supplies and SSD's are located, along with all the cables and most of the tubing, can't be seen once the panels are installed. Edit, here's one that shows the top radiator and some of the drives,, which are also hidden once the panel is on: ![]() |
Yeah that is a lot better. :)

This is a nice build using the same spare Lian Li case I have in storage:
![]() Now that this one is over and done with, I still have the EVGA SR-2 motherboard, the four HD7970's and 6 core Xeon's, plus the memory, a ton of fittings and fan controlers along with 3 spare radiators and water pump.....All I need is a power supply and a second system can be up and running, but this one I can take my time with and try to make it as clean as the picture above. |
Was taking photos of other things today and decided to take some photos of my computer room while I was at it. It a little dark in the room, but that's just how I like it.

Good job on the wiring Adam :)
It's one of the banes of my existence. So many cables, I have no idea the hell to do sometimes  -edit- What chairmat are you using? And does it divot? |

Yet I'm also slightly OCD, so knowing I've a rat's nest of cables drives me insane. It's a tough life. :( |
All that is left is to paint the walls black.

Here is mine. I really need to do something about those wires, get rid of that orange sata cable or change it to red. Probably should have taken a photo with the lights and all.
And no, that is not my water bottle. :) ![]() |
got both new rads pretty much done
![]() still waiting on fan wiring parts and want to air flow test them for CFM at different fan speeds at the full speed they push a lot of air and sound about like my directcu ii top's at 60% and I need to do a final flush on the water side the DEMCi filters seen a little bit restrictive and I had to add expanded aluminum to keep them from sucking into the fans if they don't end up working well or blocking to much air I think I got room to cut some a/c filter material, it will all be under the side covers anyway http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...A1HBR2G6AYLBTG did a quick test at full 1600 RPM fan speed and getting about 225 CFM total through each rad and about 110 CFM with the DEMCi filters on |
Just replaced a dead psu.

Dat lonely ram stick has no friends

So i moved the single ram stick to the furthest slot(slot4). Because it was blocking air flow and was pretty close to the cpu fan. I know people say its best to populate ram sticks closer to the cpu socket because the traces are closer to the cpu. But is it that big of a deal?

Is there a difference? Yes. Will you notice it in day to day usage. Haven't noticed it degrading performance in the least. :D |

first two rads are in
![]() ![]() a/c roll filter media is working well cut to fit ![]() almost disappears and side panel does not mash it flat ![]() if I can just find black fiberglass filter media or a very thin black pre filter but the 140mm fans are silent stepped down to about 1200 rpm and still push a good bit of air now to let it work the air bubbles out of the system it does it on it own but takes a few days |
