They want to make a big splash so they're timing its release with the release of Half Life 3

me to

5nm won't be used up by game consoles and some for the chip shortage should lift by the end of Q1 next year they say
about the time AMD may release RDNA 3

bill dennison Aug 19, 2021 12:21 AM

then there is this for the new fabs

Water shortages loom over future semiconductor fabs in Arizona
https://www.theverge.com/22628925/wa...rizona-drought

they need to cut about 4834 golf courses and about 6000+ neighborhood housing track lakes and fountains ASAP first

they waste 50% of Arizona's water

well hopefully 5nm TSMC will go back to a more normal release without Samsung and game console chips on the same node

NV needs to steep up the LHR anti mining code so a 4080 ti mines worse than a ATI 2900
and so does AMD infinity cache cut mining a bit and MCM chiplets may do it more but they need to actively fight mining like NV did with the LHR
AMD infinity cache and MCM chiplets will only last till they rewright the mining software to use it

What cut golf courses are you kidding aargh. These fabs won't be coming online for years and by that time with climate warming Arizona will have turned from a desert to a lake so loads of water  Only joking no offence.

2024

https://9to5mac.com/2021/07/15/tsmc-arizona-plant-2024/

and we waste more water than we use with golf courses useless fountains and manmade lakes and ponds in housing tracts …….

Arizona is a desert .
we have plenty of water for people and manufacturing if some people would stop trying to turn it into Florida

Gandalfthewhite Sep 10, 2021 04:29 PM

the manmade lakes if used as reservoir systems are fine (Tempe town lake for example) but yeah Utah are currently being jackasses with some of their water usage in a town they built in the last ~15 years using more water than some cities

I would like to know what the loss from evaporation is on Tempe town lake
that is a lot of surface area of warm water
and sooner or latter it will get wiped out in the next flood
https://www.azcentral.com/picture-ga...oods/77443788/

when I moved out here in 1975 the average summer humidity was like 5% to 9% now it is close to 20%
evaporative coolers work less and less every year in phoenix

and manmade lakes if used as reservoir systems for watering golf courses are not Astro turf those MF's

Any chance these new cards come out early 2022?

NV = Q3 or early Q4
