Maybe this is better for ya? lol

I finally got unlazy with it, and got the laser out to measure them out (if they were uneven, I would have been upset about it.. lol)

nycdarkness Sep 14, 2007 05:20 PM

k now the finish the job by putting the other two behind you. :)

The Cpt. Sep 17, 2007 08:41 PM

ok finally got everything up and running and got some pics.
tell me what u think.

first off. this is the computer i upgraded from:

this is my new upgrade:

bought this case off ebay for 20 dollars shipped. came complete with 4 years of dust buildup. i spend over 2 hours cleaning. i even threw the entire case in the bath tub.

(secret hiding place for cables. DONT TELL N E ONE)

But i think the best part is that i was able to get rid of my old computer's cooling solution!!!

:runaway: :runaway:

Awsome upgrade!

junglist1996 Sep 20, 2007 02:57 PM

My ghetto DIY active cooling for the RAM made from the fan of the stock Intel HSF stuck between the mobo and the tray while resting on the fan on the CPU heatsink.

TRD Supra Sep 20, 2007 07:30 PM

DIY, Nice .

Is that the Crucial Ballistix thats has blue lights also?

lol 3 fans near the RAM... doesnt it have a lifetime warantee so you dont have to worry if it overheats?

junglist1996 Sep 20, 2007 10:13 PM

Yep, Ballistix Tracer with blue ground effect LEDs.

Yeah, I think they come with lifetime warranty but I don't like the prospect of having down time while waiting for replacement parts. The two 12cm fans you see are actually blowing away from the RAM so I don't think they can actually cool the RAM. Also, I live in Hong Kong where it's mofo hot during the summer months and I fold 24/7 on this rig. I figured that a bit of extra cooling for the RAM won't hurt.

You must have missed the part where my stands were getting in the way, so I removed them from the stands and put them on the desk, and finally got around to putting them on the wall. lol

caveman-jim Sep 22, 2007 01:20 PM

The Cpt. - You stole my secret cable hiding spot!

Junglist - nice  keep it cool

VW -

SSXeon - thanks! It will be even better when I get paid and can buy a new PSU to get running again...

clerick Sep 22, 2007 07:25 PM

So heres all the new stuff I bought + the new lcd (my first, no more crt). I think my cable management is ok, but since I'm still using IDE for my dvd drive it really kinda created a block. Never the less here you go:

2007 FPW & 2407 FPW

2007 on left, its in 1050x1680 vertical right now. If it was horizontal it would
be 1680x1050, its 20 inch, 16:10

Cant wait to get that XFPS.    The other one is just sick, but i couldnt afford 2 new monitors. Freaken sick setup dude. YOU BASTARD. ;)

The dell model number is the size and year - 20" '07 and then the shape FP = flat panel, W is widescreen. I have a 2007FPW at work, it's very nice.
