Swapped up some stuff in my HTPC, getting ready for my cave sale - swapped out the 3870, ram and HD's. In goes 2.5" SATA seagate laptop HD (momentus 7200.2) 120Gb, 2x512Mb 667 and a 2gb readyboost stick, and back to onboard 8200 (does anyone know how to get the hd audio out through the DVI port using DVI to HDMI adapter?).

Nice setup. When I use to work at CrapUsa I use to sell those Lenovo laptops like crazy over the sony's. They come with a ton of features like face detection and some over nice stuff.

Caveman to get the HDMI audio out you have to

1. use the supplied adaptor that came with your hd4850

2. download the ATI HDMI driver from here

3. then in vista make sure you set your audio driver to the ATI HDMI Audio

4. Set your TV or displays Audio settins to use the HDMI Audio

Hi Briner, thanks but I'm not talking about my gaming rig in my sig specs - I'm referring to the HTPC pictured. I had HDMI w/audio working without hassles using my 3870, but I am now selling that to fund a new setup... with the Geforce 8 and 9 series discrete cards I know you can use your mobo SPDIF out to the card's onboard input to bring audio via DVI - HDMI, just wanted to see if it was possible with the onboard Geforce 8200.

Hey Cavey. Actually, I have the older version of this case. Only the two intake fans upfront though. My only question would be the space. If you take a look at my 'rig' post earlier in this very thread you will see that everything is pretty much 'cramped' in there. However, even though I've made a few mods to the setup that prevent me from attaching the side panel, my temps are very nominal with this air-cooled case. Thanks for the link because I did not know they had upgraded this particular case.

Yeah. It's my first laptop and I really like it. It packs a lot for the price I paid for it. :up:

Awesome on the go and simple to use. The keyboard is weird at first but you get used to it fast.

Yup, 4850.. Specs are to the right - Athlon X2 oc'd to 2.9 GHz, 4850 card, 2GB of RAM and the cheapest micro-ATX AM2 board money can buy :p But as long as I'm not trying to play Crysis, it's fine :)
