Halo Infinite
 

The MP is out and I played some. However, it felt like the game was stuck in a time bubble that never moved past 1999. Game is solid and gunplay is fun but damn only 4 a side and gunplay that is floaty was something that I didn’t expect. I have never been a Halo MP guy but this one is really old school. Some may like it but I find it a missed opportunity. Heck even Destiny MP was more fun than this.

Graphics also look like from 2010. Sad state of affairs.

I give it an average 6/10.

Halo Infinite multiplayer is free to play, and out now in beta until Dec 8. It's basically a better Halo multiplayer. Like CoD, CSGO and Battlefield, these are all stagnant franchises where you know what you're getting into.

I played a few matches, I like it. I've never really spent any significant time with Halo multiplayer on Xbox 360, and mostly stuck to playing Firefight in Halo: Reach. But the big team battles are happy chaos, and the 4v4 feel tight.

Looking forward to the Campaign. There shouldn't be too many big surprises there either - it's what, the tenth Halo campaign?* - but I'm ready to play Chief again for a while.

*Halo 1, 2, 3, ODST, Reach, 4, 5, Infinite, and hey, let's count Halo Wars 1 and 2 as well for the hell of it.

I played through 3, ODST, 4 and 5 recently so I am pumped about the campaign. I also now remember wtf is going on in the Daidact story and how Cortana has lost it. Quite psyched about the campaign and the ability to play on PC will be dope af.

Yup, I have high expectations for the campaign as well. It should be great, after a year-long delay. Also consider the fact that Halo 5's campaign was pretty mediocre, and they definitely need this to be a return-to-form. A really great Halo game will definitely boost the xbox in this generation, as Sony won't have an answer for it.

I love it. I think the MP feels like Halo3. Only thing I don't like too much is the clunky sliding and the very "heavy" grenades. Game looks good, runs great, and BRing someone into oblivion still makes me smile.

Reminds me of highschool years on Halo3, except I can now actually compete since it's on PC. I sucked with a controller lol

Not particularly a Halo fan but fired this up and gunplay is tight. I like it.

Is the campaign considered open-world?

Yes, I belive so.

I think it'll sit somewhere in between. More a hub world, perhaps.

According to shillup, its full open world, and the open world is boring, with nothing to do. Beautiful but boring. Gameplay is amazing though.

Sounds like it fits right in to the Halo universe, then.

Yes GP is like having sex without paying for it. :bleh:

Never thought of a wife or girlfriend as a game pass, but yeah, that sounds about right. Monthly contribution, endless supply, occasional finnicky behavior, and you end up owning nothing. :bleh:

At its worst, reviews are saying "It's not fantastic, it's good", and in all honesty, that's good enough for me. The hype train, nostalgia and fanboyism will carry the rest for me. :lol:

Not totally sure, but I don't think the PC version has been reviewed yet. Arstechnica clearly mention this in their review

The ingame vsync and frame limiter is broken, don't use it unless you love periodic stutters.

lol who still uses vsync. Haven’t touched that option since 2013 or something when first GSync monitors came out.

Also happens on Gsync/Freesync if you use the framerate limiter.

Do we need to know about the Halo 5 story? I hear mixed opinions regarding the link between 5 and Infinite.
