From these pics you are not running your memory in Dual Channel. I also check your motherboard manual and you should be running the memory in Dimm's 1 & 3 not 1 & 2.

That's strange. For the heck of it I would change the memory still and see what the bios says after that.

I`ve always kind of disliked the grey cloth on my speakers but for some reason it never donned on me i could fix that until today, i`ve had a quart of black wood stain for years that i used on some picture frames i made, anyways i think they look a lot better. :)

I know the speakers should be behind me but i`m not prepared to run wire`s either on the floor or roof, not to mention i have no room really either, i still get some slight surroundish feel, they are almost at my side when i game... it`s stain not paint though. :bleh: Paint would look dreadful. :lol:

ive yet to find a single lcd that offers good image quality across all resolutions then what a crt offers, many here will agree.

i will be sticking up with crt until sed monitors are out, my crt gives me fantastic picture quaility, only thing i would like would be a widescreen crt, that would be fantastic, but looks like im waiting for sed for that.

Unfortunately LCD's look less than perfect when run @ anything other than their native resolution. That is why you buy a nice beefy video card with a 22"/24" LCD so you can game natively @ 1680x1050 or 1920x1200.

You would be surprised how excellent newer LCD's look when calibrated. Hell my Samsung Syncmaster 226BW looks phenomenal and is going on almost 2 years old.

Yeah I'll trade a little image quality for a lot less flicker. Even though its not somthing that I will notice, it does take its toll on me.

I never use a mousepad either, no real need for one if you have a lot of desk surface. At least, I never needed one anyway. Just have to keep the desk clean. :D

It's not like i make a lot of money, i would say decent amount. I got this build for $1200 over new egg. no interest over 12 months. Oh well i'd rather put payment into this machine then get soda every day and some junk food. In 12 months things will be paid off. I already had HDDs and Video Cards, Monitor, Keyboard and Mouse. Yes, i don't have mouse pad. Surface of this old desk is perfect to use it.

Just given ya crap. :p Hopefully in a month ill be able to grab a new HDD, monitor and videocard.

Why? Because I can. And because I was getting frustrated with the short (~2hr) battery life with the standard 3-cell

how long do you get off the 9 cell? and how much $$..

Haven't manually timed it yet. XP estimated 9h:50m just sitting at the desktop, no WLAN, dimmest setting, but it tends to be overly optimistic when the battery is nearly full. I'm sure I can easily get over 7 hours though, even under relatively heavy use (brightness turned up, WLAN active, high CPU etc.). 8-9 hours is probably possible at very light usage.

I bought it used for about $75. I was going to get a 6-cell but I thought this was a good deal so I went with that instead. Can always pop the 3-cell back in when I need ultra-portability. Although not having to carry the power brick with me everywhere also makes the system feel much more usable on the move.

What kind of paint did you use? Powder coat?

I just used a can of Tremclad flat black for paint from home depot. It worked out great.
