I had some issues with my 5950x. Initially, I had it on a cheap AsRock b450 hdv 4.0 but that motherboard could not give it enough power so the computer locked up often.
I then played around with enabling PBO, but temperatures were hitting 90C. Finally, I found a sweet spot with PBO enabled, +200 MHz boost and curve optimizer set at negative 15 for all cores. Everything is stable, performance is good and CPU temperature remains in the 70s without drawing more than 140W (vs 220W before when PBO was enabled with everything else set to auto). I don't know if these are the optimal settings since I don't quite understand all these PBO setting but it's stable and I'm happy with the performance. |
Anyone else having issues with points not updating? I'm getting bad gateway errors when accessing the statistics site and I can no longer see my points. Just says loading.

But I would say that you are not alone in not getting points. |
Thanks.

Looks like a few of us managed to hit the 300 Mil milestone this past week. Nice.

Also Ragin just reached 100 million points and BigJimJack 50 million! Finally Jima13 just crossed 9 billion points! Congrats to all! :yahoo: |

Back to folding a after years off...
Hey everyone,
It's been many many years since I started folding. But I'm back here and there to help the team out!! |
Team tracker?
If I remember correctly there was a way to track where we were in our team, but arrows up or down? Does that still exist??
|
Multi GPU recognized but no progress
Ok one last question for now. I have a multi GPU rig running. The GPUs are green and showing spinning but no progress..just sitting at zero. The CPU is showing progress...any ideas?
|

This is the site where you can track progress. https://folding.extremeoverclocking....st.php?s=&t=64 |
Thanks! Not sure about the GPUs either. I have a few laptops and computers folding right now, but my beast just won't roll with 4 GPUs so not sure what is going on at the moment :(
|
Not sure what is going on, not seeing any updates either. Weird. Never had this problem before.....
|
Looks like I moved up a couple of spots!
|
Not sure what happened when I went to look at them there were green and moving. Hope I get some updates soon!
|
Welcome back!
Link to your stats> https://folding.extremeoverclocking....php?s=&u=13908 no threats :D |

I'll be on and off folding when not mining. But it's nice to be back! |

Welcome back! |
Thank you!
Hoping I will be close to the top 100 by this weekend! |
Is it just me or is the points per project going down. My 24hr average has been slipping.

I noticed that as well. I'm getting more of the smaller WUs that give around 2 milllion ppd vs the almost 3 million ppd I was getting a few weeks ago. |
Crawdaddy79 you're on fire today! Did you get new hardware?
https://folding.extremeoverclocking....php?s=&u=13878 |
Quote:
Yep. Got a 3080. Turns out it's a pretty good folder. Some WUs calculate at 8M PPD, most others between 4.5 and 5.5M. Will update system specs when my kids aren't screaming at each other. Gotta go. |
Quote:
Nice! It's not pumping too much heat into the room? |
Quote:
I'd put the 3080 at about 50% of what the Vega 64 was, and about 300% of what the 5700XT was. The Vega 64 put out enough heat that I could feel the layers of temperature change as I came down the stairs. 5700XT there seemed to be no temp change in the room. UPS reports over 500W power draw just folding with the GPU. Previous card barely saw 330W. |
Shame these new cards are so power hungry. It's only going to get worse with next gen. :( But, congrats on the new card. Not easy to come by these days.
|
Yeah I got very lucky. About six times in the last year I've walked into Microcenter at 10:01 only to see nothing available. AMD cards have been available for a long time now, but Thursday was the day they got a massive pile of nVidia cards. They were out of stock by Friday.
|
If you are finding your card getting too hot for comfort, install the MSI afterburner application and set the temperature you want the card to remain at. It will adjust the clock speed etc to maintain it. Congrats on passing the 400 Mil mark.
|
Definitely when it gets warmer outside, I will try it out. nVidia software has an adjustible temperature target, so it may not be necessary to install Afterburner.
400M Points. Such a steel climb to 1B from here. And by steel I mean steep. :bleh: |
Congrats Jima13 for reaching 10 billion points!
