Time for my semi-annual chassis dust cleaning. Figured it's as good a time as any to post updated pics (seem to do so about every 3 years) -
A common enough but not so often seen here pre-built system. Went out of my way to try and find cables that somewhat match! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
You sit on top of that shelf in the floor, or what? :bleh::lol:

My Arctic Accelero Twin Turbo II arrived today, goodie!
![]() How it makes my card looks like some low end cheapo card! ![]() Temperature improved massively, stock crappy, noisy cooler reaches the 80C throttle limit till it no longer in boost state. This cooler achieve +100MHz core (~1200MHz core clock) and only peaking 70C in Crysis 3, in non airconditioned room! 3DMark 11 graphics score jumps over 9000 points when overclocked. Stock only shy of 8000 points |
^^ Very sharp looking cooler!

I'd say at the very bottom of the case, just below the second card, once you move the reservoir and pump to another location (maybe the other side of the case where the PSU is)... |

![]() My main rig got poump'd today as well as crammed into a smaller case. Dropped the optical disk and replaced the i7 860 with a 4770K, faster mem and most of the other bits remained. This thing is quite snappy and seems a bit smoother in Civ5 already, but since my monitor runs 1440p and I'm "only" running a 670, not all the games have felt the benefit. Anyways, my first trip to a microcenter and it was a more interesting store than I expected and it seems like that every cable is too long in an itx case... surprisingly, even the ones for the front panel and PSU that came with the case :bleh:, so I won't disgust you with the birdsnest in the front half of the case. |
We real? The sub on top of your case?
|
Don't have another good place to put it.... my furniture is less than ideal and my desk space is surprisingly limited, since it's sort of a for-everything work area. It's a solid bottom sub too, so it's not as bad as if it were down-firing.
It fit better on my last case and hasn't made anything rattle at least :bleh: |
I don't think I'd have a vibration inducing device capable of making vibrations throughout an entire house on top of my fragile filled with expensive electronics device.

Subs belong on the floor.
You're telling me you have no room on your floor for that?? |
If I put it under my desk, I kick it. If I put it behind my desk, I have to push it out from the wall like 4 inches. I have shelving on both sides of the desk, to the wall on one side and to the door on the other.
Really, it doesn't sound bad. Maybe it would if I cranked the hell out of the volume... but I value my ears and don't want to upset my neighbors :bleh: |
Are you a tall guy? I've got mine under my desk by my feet, and I don't kick it.
But if you're happy with where it is, that's all that matters. |
Eh, not particularly tall. My desk is odd though, it's an older idea desk that's about 2 feet deep, but it has a set of drawers on one side (which is solid, and goes close to all the way back) and a sort of cupboard on the other side that's the same way. I pretty regularly have my feet touching the wall under the desk, and while I'm not worried for the sub, I don't want my feet all over it...
With my last desk I also had it on my case, but it was in a computer hutch on one side of the desk, and was press-fit tight, so nothing really vibrated there and it was sort of like it was bolted into the desk  |
Nothing fancy, will eventually add custom water to the CPU and GPU's, but it will have to be slowly and stealthily done to avoid the wife's prying eyes, or I am going to be in big trouble.
![]() also gold toes ah yeah! ![]() |
