UDHA, thanks :p
My VectorLinux server box is currently a dedicated server for a DoD:S server, but has been for UT99 and UT2004 and CS:S before. I want to make it be a webserver too, but am a little lazy and have yet to configure it.... Several times it has been my backup desktop, when my desktop is down and I need interweb for fixing it for example, and is has come in handy loading pictures (since XP x64 still won't recognize my camera as a flashdrive.....). After I installed everything has run pretty smoothly despite my general linux nubishness (though I'm much better now....) and I have only reinstalled once. It was even quicker to configure than my Windows box, right after installing everything just kinda worked... The best part though.... Got a USB switch and a monitor with 2 inputs, so I can use my kbd/mouse/monitor for both my desktop and server, and thanks to an AC heatsink, passive NB sink, and modded psu, the server box is essentially inaudible. Supposedly the biggest advantage to Vector is that is a little bit faster than slackware, and comes with a decent package set. The server has been running 24/7 (with one reboot) since sometime in september when I moved in and got everything set up. |

My peltier cooled (slightly messy) Lian Li. ![]() ![]() ![]() Gotta luv black'n'silver with blue/white LED's. Right? :bleh: |
That is: S939 A64 [email protected],2GHz [email protected] 420Watt Yesico fanless powersuply All components are passively cooled :D Now if I only can find that fast and quit harddrive I was looking for :) I designed this case first with SolidWorks, but then ran into troubles with with CNC drill at work as it doesn't support parts that are wider than 490mm :( So I had to go handy and I'm still missing front, back and top panels... as I got lazy :) |
painkiller, in my experience Western Digital have whisper-quiet drives, compared to my seagates, the WD's are silent when seeking or thrashing about, the seagates sound like they are grinding gears

This is my ghetto rig. It gets the job done, so I don't complain. I do wish I had a chair, though. Anything not named in awesome red text is in my sig, except for my Xbox controller, which I forgot to list in awesome red text and don't want to list in my sig.

![]() ![]() ![]() I love my VT 7105 PC case, and it loves me. It has the mesh panels on all sides. It's a smooth mesh though, and you don't even really notice it. The camera flash lit up the white fiber dust filter :X. |
That's a really sweet lookin' case, Comit. :)
I totally love the Gigabyte Aurora, it's neat-o: But the window needs to be bigger: I really need to switch to bigger tubing, but that means revamping the whole system...not cool. But I love the whole thing, it came out great. :D |
