OOO pics
Cool thread, I want to play!! :nag: I need to find a bigger pics tho
![]() ![]() Bits inside include * P4 3.2 HT 800 Northwood With Gigabyte Ultra Cooler * Matrox RT Extreme * 2GB (2x 1GB) paired Corsair Memory * Asus X800 XT Platinum Edition * 7xHD - all 133 / 7200RPM totaling around a Terabyte * Pioneer 109 * Creative 6.1 Speaker System (suprisingly, really good) * Windows XP Pro SP2 with Desktop Sidebar It was built around a parhelia originally, i have fond memories of playing Quake 3/ UT2003 / Battlefield across all 3 screens. When farcry came out it blew me away and upgraded to a 9800, then a XTPE on release. Anything using Direct Overlay automatically gets outputted to the 4:3 tv i have just to the left that you cant see in the pic. Sky+ is hooked directly in too, so I can make DVD's in realtime which is handy! Got my eye on a X-fi as well.. I dont need one.. but it sure will be tempting once there out here in the UK :D |
Hi, here are some pics taken with my new camera.

Two cost me around $3,200 after tax. Zero, the second screen is in the other room. I use it as a TV to watch DVD movies. |
![]() ![]() Not the cleanest fanciest thing ever, but enough for me... only thing is... I think my side fan is causing my case temps to be too high (cpu fan screams perpetually at 5300RPM after loads in my living room when its 80F). The side fan is set to intake. I've tried front intake and top exhaust and rear exhaust and side intake, still the same results. I don't wanna do AC, so I bought a cable sleeving kit to see if that helps. My biggest concern is noise. I don't want to fill it with too many fans cuz then thats noisy. I'm a system builder and my comp must be quiet in order to show people that I build NORMAL computers. |
Hidavi, have you tried front intake + side intake, rear exhaust, move your HD down 2 bays might help also. I think cable sleeving might help a little, fold your IDE cables so the flat edge is shown to the side, not the front.

But I'm gonna try 2 rear exhaust, 1 top exhaust, 2 front intake, 1 side intake using quiet fans. The thing is, what CFM should I look for? Also, what decibels? |

Just get a fan controller.. Fans around 20 to 25dB are near silent. And what you really need to do with those fan "mounts" is cut out around them. I know that chassis, and its a very poor one. Anywhere you mount a fan it has to suck or blow through little tiny holes in the chassis increasing noise by like 75% and flowing almost no air. All they are, are noise makers. Cut them out. Increase airflow, and decrease noise. Fan speed controllers are cheap enough and they are worth it. Just knocking a bit of speed of the top end of a fan decreases noise quite a bit. |

Wow. I'm gonna hold off on those 5 fans I was gonna order... well... gonna order 3 to replace non-blue LED fans in case... and yes, I build machines. Simple Celeron D machines though... don't get too hot. Run fine with 1 exhaust fan... |
Because my stuff has changed around a little bit. (Ive moved, and changed cases, etc..)

got my case back and stuck everything back in it...
inside: ![]() left side: ![]() front and right side: ![]() front: ![]() specs are in my sig...needs some clean up work with the wires and its nothing like some of those super mod cases, but i like the way it shines. |

Told me to cut out my case fan grills. So I did. Noise is down by 50% My CPU idles at 35C On load its 40C CPU fan does not surpass 3600RPM CPU used to idle at 42C On load it WAS 46C CPU fan screamed perpetually at 5300RPM great. |

Here's the desk that me and my dad built yesterday.
Total Cost : $50.00 ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Where can I buy some Cold Cathodes like these so I can mount them in my cubby holes of my new desk? I don't want to buy them online. I rather go to a store that sells them like CompUSA and stuff. Is there any extra stuff that I need to make this project complete? For example:
????? List Of What I need: ????? - Cold Cathodes - Power - Mounting Things - ect ????? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
/\ wow. sweet. looks like a hacker movie set
