Humble Monthly is becoming Humble Choice

Humble Monthly is becoming Humble Choice

So to get the best deal you need to be a subscriber before they switch to the Humble Choice

I think I would still rather pay the $15/$20 a month and only pay for a month when there is something that I want and feel the $15/$20 price is worth it. I have only paid for like 4 months of Humble Monthly since it started, so I doubt it would be worth it to subscribe on a monthly basis for me.

Crawdaddy79 Oct 18, 2019 09:13 PM

I'm signed up for the annual subscription. Classic is clearly the best deal. Overall I think these cheap bundles are a cancer to the industry. nomnomnom that's some good cancer nomnomnom

DeathKnight Oct 18, 2019 09:34 PM

That's a huge price increase.

KAC Oct 19, 2019 12:49 AM

I think the games on there are trash. Not worth my time.

zizbuka Oct 19, 2019 01:02 PM

I signed up for the current sub, mostly to get Crash and Spyro. The Trove 'perk' says you can play them as long as you're subscribed. Does that mean there's some kind of client to install?

John C Flett Oct 19, 2019 01:24 PM

No. I've got a bunch of trove games and they're all stand alone installers. At least, they were when I downloaded them. It's always possible they plan to change that.

The Trove appears to be standalone files (zipped). As long as you are a subscriber you can always download them.

If you have already downloaded them and unsubscribe you can still play what you downloaded.

Is there a date on this? I'm thinking about the annual classic plan as it seems a fair gamble but I'm not signed up at the moment. What's my window for getting in there? The Humble page itself doesn't seem to have any info on the change.

I haven't seen the info there either. I think lettuce is cabbaging us.

Currently you can only get the months games that are available at the time you sign up.
I just signed up a couple weeks ago and I get November monthly games (COD,Crash, Spyro and some undisclosed until Nov 1st).

You can't get games that were available before you signed up (except the Trove). However, the game keys you get upon joining at the time you get to redeem and if you unsubscribe after that you can still keep the games. (like getting a steam key and redeeming it)

zizbuka Jul 23, 2020 05:08 PM

I got an email for 1 free month of Humble Choice. Hmmm..... feels like there must be some kind of catch, but says I can cancel before the auto-renew.

I don't have any montly subs, but $21/month seems a bit high.

Crawdaddy79 Jul 23, 2020 06:37 PM

Oh wow... I'm on the $120/yr plan for 9 games a month. I guess they've finally figured out that wasn't sustainable.

JohnnyFlash Jul 23, 2020 06:45 PM

Man I miss the original version. All of Serious Sam for $1.

Fuku2 Jul 23, 2020 07:54 PM

I'm on the one with 10 a month. Paid for a year in advance.I paused it so far 2 months in a row and I should have done it for a few of the other months due to crap choices.

Seyiji Jul 23, 2020 09:53 PM

Been paused since November cause the games selection is trash !__!

That's why I signed up.
I only wanted single player for the Call of Doody.

There has been a lot of straight up garbage (for the money) though.

I got some early humble bundles when the deals were aaaaamazing. But I look at the bundles nowadays and 8/10 of the games I'd never want to play so I'm just accumulating games for no reason. This choose your own thing looks like it would be better for me. I'll wait and see.

You only get to choose from a total of 12 games. Most of which are crap. :bleh:

Crawdaddy79 Aug 7, 2020 03:32 PM

This month:

Vampyr - a game I regretted buying 2.1 hours into it.

Hello Neighbor 1/2 - Thought it was a cutesy adventure game so never looked into it. Might be fun.

War Groove - Turn based pixel strategy game. Looks awful.

Call of Cthulhu - Don't know if it's related to the original retail version from 15 years ago. I don't like these style of games. Too stressful.

Little Big Workshop - A building/strategy game for 10 - 14 year olds.

Genesis Alpha One - Couldn't get a good idea on if this game was actually good or not. Looked interesting but not well received when it was finally released on Steam. Now I don't have to pay for it to find out.

Automachef - Building game but for a restaurant. Looks bad.

The Darkest of Times - Probably has good storylines but not interested in heavy reading for my games.

American Fugitive - Cannon Fodder but with one person? Running With Rifles but singleplayer? Not sure about it.

The Coma 2 - 2D side scrolling horror/action game where you play as a Korean school girl.

We Were Here Together - Heard good things about this series, but adventure games are usually last on my list of games to play.

A Case of Distrust - looks like a cheap postcard simulator.

So there. I'm not too happy about this bundle. Only 10 months left to my subscription...

SirBaron Aug 7, 2020 03:37 PM

War Groove is great, especially if you ever liked Advanced Wars on the GBA.

Yeah basically only two games there I'd want to play. Will wait for next month.

KAC Aug 8, 2020 03:11 AM

These humble bundles are garbage. Not sure why anyone would pay for this.

They used to be good I guess then IGN bought them.

SirBaron Aug 8, 2020 04:57 AM

Yeah they were decent once upon a time, but since choice they've gone ****.

theshadowcult Aug 8, 2020 08:17 AM

Hahaha, some of your descriptions are completely wrong and not what those games are at all. Nice :D

Fuku2 Aug 11, 2020 09:06 PM

theshadowcult Aug 13, 2020 08:35 AM

By the way, if anyone grabs the humble thingy and doesnt want american fugitive, i would love it!

Crawdaddy79 Aug 18, 2020 09:48 PM

They added a bonus game (doesn't count against your choices). Also it appears that everyone gets all 12 games this month.

The bonus game is Vikings: Wolves of Midguard - looks like Silverfall but with vikings. Don't know what Silverfall is? It's just like Mage Knight Apocalypse but with cell shading and a top-down view.
