Ah yes, I remember those days. That was a couple months before I got busted for street racing at over 120mph, had my license taken for 6 months, nearly lost my job (which probably would have ruined my entire career path), and almost had my prior 99 Corvette at the time impounded (the cop felt bad since I had a clean record and wrote the ticket for 95mph).

For obvious reasons and a very hard lesson learned, I don't condone street racing. I believe there are many ways to cater to all budgets to get that fix, such as: autocross, local dragstrip, 1/2 Mile and 1 Mile events, drifting, and all the variations of track days.

However, being a computer based site, there are no forum rules against posting that stuff.

Guy from the Vette forum that road races his 830whp (1000hp) C5 Corvette. Many years in playing with the setup to get it right and reliable, and many many coolers.

Runs 203mph in the standing mile, and holds up to road race abuse (HPDE's) for 30min at at time. A little envious of his setup. I don't have the patience and my wallet is too thin to figure it out.

If I want to get a boosted car running fast on a track, I'd talk to A&A or ECS. All motor, I'd stick with LG, Vengeance, and DRM. Lots of options!

And yeah, that full aero C5Z was running away with it in the turns.

You'll want a shop that has built race cars which run for hours at peak performance. A&A and ECS know how to add FI, but I doubt they've ever build a real race car (and never to the level that LG has built/run for years).

Another good one to watch is Mike Skeen. Here's a video of him thrashing a C6Z at VIR.

A few NASA racers have done the 25 hour race with Mr. Skeen. If you ever do any coastal NASA events, you might see Mr. Skeen show up.

I'm not going to lie, the E46 chassis is one of the most balance chassis I have ever driven. If I had the money, I'd definitely build a race car around one.

BTW, this video is being copied and shown all over the internet. Some of them are slightly sped up which makes it seem even more impressive so just be ware of which version of the video you see.

Have you driven any E36 M3's?

Apparently, the E46 chassis is far more rigid, but I heard when it comes to steering feel/connectedness with the car.. the E36 is superior.
The North American E36 M3 is underpowered, but many people that compare to the two-generations of M3 say - if the E36 is the higher HP Euro model, or a modded version, they prefer the E36.

Just wondering your opinion - if you have driven both.

Money not being considered, E46 without a doubt. However, the E36 is no slouch and much better on the wallet right now. I am looking into a E36 race car though for some WRL racing in about a year. It won't replace the Honda, it would be an addition.
