It's amazing the difference between this ****ty free software and almost free software

I'm sure it will get bid up to a whopping $4.25.

I use GIMP daily at work, they're too cheap to get me photoshop. It's limited, sure, but it does everything I need it to(which isn't much more than what Paint can do TBH).

Work doesn't have a Photoshop/Paintshop Pro(whatever the hell Corel is calling it) license but GIMP is authorized software.

The problem with GIMP is it was obviously designed by the retarded dog mascot/stuck-up Linux users who think convoluted, hard to use, POS == AWESOME.

Still not as good as PSP, but it's free and easy.

I've tried GIMP to compare it to PS Cs4. It's a joke. GIMP totally sucks, hard to use, slow and the UI is ridiculous. CS4 ftw. Any computer user with a brain and a decent can obtain PS CS4 for just as much as the cost of GIMP.

I'm not that well versed in photoshop, but from my experience, its way easier to add an alpha channel to an image in GIMP than it is in PS.

Like if you wanted to crop out a figure from a JPG and have a transparent background...

Its probably just that I suck in PS

Paint.Net - simple, very easy to use and effective.

Photoshop - vastly too complicated for the few features that most people here would use it for, they only get it because it makes them feel warm inside when they download it illegally.

GIMP - Who cares how powerful it might be? The GUI is absolutely hopeless, making it impossible to use for most.


Just my £0.02.
